and this is a test piece of that ssd mount plate I was working on earlier, this a rushed paint job, and I didnt clean the masking fully, was just trying to see if I like it before I commit to making more.

Man those inserts look really good in the acrylic. The inserts and standoffs should be here tomorrow. I'm going to print a couple test pieces and check strength and fit. I'll get back as soon as I've tested those a bit!

Did you reach out to MisterAddons through the contact form of his site like I mentioned in Post 133? He’s waiting to hear from you to get you swapped out.
Yes, thank you. He asked me to make a video to verify if my setup isn’t correct. I posted the link here as well. I’m thinking I’ve misunderstood the MISTercade’s power requirement. I think the power supply for my 60-1 is no longer utilized once I connect my JAMMA to the MISTercade.

The DE10-Nano comes w/ a power supply. Is that power supply insufficient for this application? Is it possible that both problems w/ the unpowered speaker and over-saturated colors on the monitor associated? I’m guessing here that those capped plugs coming off the JAMMA are alternative ways to connect +12, +5, and ground…which the power supply for the 60-1 seems to have an empty molex. If I can connect the two, maybe my power issues are solved?

Just saw the video and yes you need to power the Mistercade through the jamma edge, 12v specifically. So the capped power wires on your harness need to plugged to the molex on PSU. Do not use the PSU that comes with the DE10 nano.

Also, you should unplug power to your 60n1, since you will be using the mistercade.

@BabaYaga326 Who did you buy that cab from? Do they have a site/link?
Thx for the question. So I got that cabinet from http://www.fatcatamusement.com/

You can find similar on EBay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/113495478333

Both sellers configure the artwork depending on the buyer’s tastes. The 60-1 board is total trash IMO.

I built a dual monitor Hyperpsin cabinet years ago and it’s something I still maintain to this day. But I always wanted a cabinet that was as close to the real thing as possible. Once I was introduced to MISTer (thanks to Smokemonster on YouTube) I knew that my next project was going to be something like this. The MISTercade is a dream come true. Just working out the kinks and I think I’m going to be really happy. I will probably still switch the machine over to the 60-1 whenever I have guests though as I don’t need another machine in the game room that I have to babysit guests with. The MISTercade is mostly for me since I’m the only one who is ever going to care about such details. ;)

So yeah, it helps if I read the fine print on the MISTer Addons storefront, doesn’t it? LOL

Power Notice:
  • REQUIRES +12V 1A FROM ARCADE PSU
  • +5V power generated from the +12V rail
    • +5V and -5V cabinet power supply rails are loaded for a steady 100 mA current

Hey friends,

Final versions of the MiSTercade mount/brace are on Thingiverse. Feel free to do whatever you want with them as they're a gift back to the community for all the resources I've been the beneficiary of. If you do decide to sell them, a link back to the thingiverse page would be nice :).

Given that arcade PSU's aren't too expensive (the Mean Well RT-65B is less than $30 on Amazon), it's probably worth trying a fresh PSU and seeing if that clears up your problems. If it doesn't make a difference then you can just return the PSU and get your money back.

Thanks for creating and sharing those - awesome work!

From what I saw in the video the cabinet has a standard VGA monitor. However the mistercade does not output a standard VGA signal level wise from it's VGA connector. In order to use the mistercade with a VGA monitor the easiest solution is 480P out on the HDMI of the DE-10 and then a simple HDMI->VGA adapter

Tested both of my MisterCades today on my New Astro Citys. Controls, video, sound, all working great. Need to do some adjustment on the picture overscan but beyond that, super impressive out of the box. Thanks to everyone involved in bringing it to life :)

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm looking forward to purchasing the remote and VS. boards when they're available!

Wow, looks sweet! Can I buy a print from you @TodoRojo? :D

Thanks for sharing, but has anyone been able to successfully download it? I tried yesterday, and today, and I get a 404 every time. Logged in or not.

Hey, sure! DM me :)

Hey Aurich, thanks for letting me know. I'll try re-uploading them again tonight to make sure they can be downloaded together. I have a feeling it has to do with the amount of times I updated photos and STL files.

Hey all - have a weird issue with my MiSTercade in an Astro City. I installed it two nights ago and everything was great and worked fine. This morning I turn on my cab and I can't get any controls to respond at the main menu. P1, P2 side, nothing does anything. I've tried leaving the cab on and rebooting the MiSTer via the physical buttons, and I've also tried powering off and on the entire thing.

If I use a keyboard, I can still get the menu to respond. Seems like something is amiss with my controls via Jamma, or the controller on the mistercade that decodes them? Haven't been in the cab since Friday when this was working so nothing has changed there.

Anyone seen anything like that?
