What's new
The kits will be assigned and sent randomly. Distributors will not know what chip is inside if Qsound or FPGA, but as I already explained, people, the FPGA is 100% the same and the core has been done by Master Jotego in person!
About the preorders, we will wait for those 2 weeks and give preference to the people that have a number in the interest check, lower than 250 (thanks @Derick2k for keeping up the list).
Hey DS, my apologies if this has been covered else where. What's the reason which has the Qsound variant being sent out randomly instead of being given to the people in order of preference from the interest check thread?

I understand the differences but this is something that genuinely matters to people.

Can you also confirm that if you recieve the fpga variant that the fpga can be swapped out for a real Qsound chip?

Unlinkely, as DS mentioned there are different components on the FPGA board to adapt voltage for instance.

The q sound chip and fpga are installed on modules that are self-contained and interchangeable.
I thought that might be the case. Would there be an option where the unpopulated module could be bought so people could harvest a DL 1425 off say a donor mobo?

As Mitsu explained, the Qsound / FPGA are mounted on a PCB that plugs into the multi, so it can be replaced.
We don't want distributors to start opening the boxes one by one the boxes and choosing which one to sent because it's giving the impresison that one is better than the other and this is not the case. Maybe Mitsurugi will print some blank Qsound PCBs, in case someone can get a Qsound from a defective board and wants to transplant it, but again, I know Qsound is the original Chip but in this case, we worked hard to make sure it is 100% the same.

People from USA/Canada, you need to order from HSS. People from Europe will need to order from Aldo / Saveyourgames

HSS Shipping type UPS Expedited Int.
  • Shipping costs:
    $124.69*

ALDO Shipping:

Canada: €41,00

on top of that UPS will charge me more then 250$ for duties.

Sorry but I would much rather take my chances with Aldo @CPZ - SAVEYOURGAMES ...#242 ! :(

Dam I'm a couple days late for this announcement. Hope my order makes the first batch.

Is there clarification for how to submit your place in the interest queue for orders from HighScoreSave?

Everyone seems to be informing order# + tagging here/ mailing distributor + place you are in the preorder list

Really excited for this! I'm past the 250 mark, in the 400s - should I go ahead and order anyway, or wait past the two week initial order period? Thanks!

I just ordered mine, but didn't see a place to reference my queue number with HSS.

HSS Order number: 41145
Queue #82
payed with Paypal.

A thought: Maybe update the first post of this thread (since it's the Official one) with the installation instructions if there's any soldering/etc to be done?

So I've been silent about this up to this point...

Look I ordered, and I hope I get a original Q-Sound.
Why if they are 100% exactly the same?

My personal feeling is IF I'm going to pass data thru an FPGA OF ANY KIND why not just use a Myster?
These are my personal feelings, I don't need to back them up like an argument with facts as to why I feel this way.

So what happens if I get a FPGA version?
I finish assembling the multi, test and sell it (on eBay because you won't allow it here).

I don't think its fair that as soon as YOU announced original Q-sound chips would be sourced...
WE created a pre-order list because THAT SUPPLY AS ALWAYS LIMITED and we wanted to be assured of getting one.

Since that time you found a work around in FPGA, opening up the ability for a lot more people to own one.
That shouldn't change the fact that the list exists and was promised to be be honored, now that isn't happing because this isn't what I signed up for.

Spin what I said anyway you like, you can't change the fact that a promise is being broken to your most loyal/longest of fans.
ie If only 100 original Q-Sound chips exist, than your first 100 people on the list get that option (QS or FPGA) PERIOD.

The problem Is the list, people here think that we can follow a preorder list with a nickname. We are 3 distributors we can't coordinate each other for follow a list of people that now After years we are not sure that it's real.

In the last 2 years we have a pandemia that have broken all the projects and it's a miracle that Darksoft can produce the cps1 multi.

Maybe you don't see all the hard work behind any single darksoft project, many times we have wrote on this forum that yes we gain selling multi but believe me, less than you expect.

The fpga/qsound can't be a question for to buy It or not, you are buying a Multicart not an original Capcom CPS Qsound board, you want to play with multi or do you want to show to your Friends that you have an original qsound on a non original board?

I receive 5/10 message at day for this matter.... It's unbelievable.

This kind of problem are the reason of why someone , sometimes left the scene...

Think about It, stop to ask for this, please, we are all working hard on every single project but if the Drama Is the new way of this forum i think that this can be the last project.

I too prefer to get the OG.
That said, If I get the OG Q-sound and you don't I'll trade you for your FPGA one.
But can't you see the efforts to try to even things for all and not always feed VIP or exclusive? I dont think DS sourced +600 Q-sound chips for all of who signed in the list, so in this case why not randomize ?
