I've been quiet about my Naomi woes while trying to fix other issues like all my video options dying on me.

Finally checked the RAM and it looks like chip IC18's dead. I assume that'll require replacing and resoldering. Got a link to the relevant option?

What's the part number on the chip? I did find a supplier at Ali Express that sold me some replacement DRAM chips just a couple months ago. They're running great on my Naomi2.

I misspoke earlier. It's sector IC16 which on further reading is the Graphical RAM which certainly explains everything. The text as written on the chip is as follows:

SEC KOREA849
KM416S102OCT-G10
TPK045DC

It just doesn't like certain USB device controllers. Try a different PC or even a external USB hub if you have oneaavailable.

With the new firmware it has fixed the 2 player input lag for the Naomi but now after a short while I get a no io error

No, unfortunately not! I think HotD2 is 31khz-only. There's no way to change it, even with the 15khz dipswitch set to 'on', on the Naomi motherboard.
Guess the ROM doesn't support it, might be the only Naomi game? But I guess the UVC route would work, will try it out one day :)

Can anyone comment on Ringedge 2 functionality? I have one coming to me and hoping it will work with my IONA

If you don't get an answer, bug me and I'll plug mine in and try it out.

Not a huge deal, I'll find out myself in about a week!

Just picked on of these up, does anyone know how to check what firmware it's running? I'm having no luck getting it running on TX3

If it's anything like TTX2 you have to upgrade the firmware to 1.43 or later and boot with the test button held to change the JVS signal level. You only have to do this once. I wouldn't worry about trying to discover the FW version and just update to the latest.

And I think that there is a point in the firmware upgrade process where it lists what version your on and what version you're upgrading to. But could be misremembering...

Thanks, FW updated and seems to be working now with TX3, just need to figure out how to configure buttons now.

Yesterday I made simple Raspberry Pi Pico controller for my exA because why not (the 20-pin is for the brook harness)

The controller works perfectly on Windows but the IONA doesn't recognize it so I contacted Toyoshima last night, fortunately he has the Pico and will test it out
here's the tracking in case anyone is interested

I used the GP2040 firmware

If anyone got this working with 2 player on a Naomi I would be interested to know your board revision. I figure out a work around on some games but not all.

Toyoshima is looking into the issue but I remember reading people not having issue

The only way I've ever been able to get 2p is by using the same joystick as the one I configured for 1p
