What's new
Ok, once again Wigsplitta sorted me out (top dude!) by providing me with a pre-formatted sd cart, at (no surprise) it worked straight away.

Would have still liked to have found out the exact reason why it didn't work, but the main thing is, of course that I (finally) have a working scsi adapter setup!

Thanks for all your feedback nonetheless and of course especially Wigsplitta for sorting me out.

nice pony - I used to have one of those but sold it to pay towards a Pinball machine.

I've had zero luck getting this to work on MAC via terminal. Everything seems correct (sd card looks just as the cd does when inserted into my laptop), but I'm still getting "invalid CD-ROM. Started on a work PC this morning and made it all the way up to the fact that the free version of WINHEX maxes out at 200mb when using clone disk. I can't justify a one time use purchase of $50 :)

Any MAC tips? I tried the dd utility app but it kept taking my .iso file and converting it to .img and I suspect that's why it wouldn't jive with the CPS 3.

Quoting myself from page 8...
I used HDD Raw Copy portable (totally free installs nothing) and it was easy as pie.
HDD Raw Copy portable bro. ;)

Can we get this info stickied? Seems like the tread is getting too long for people to read thru now.

I can add +1 for another working setup using the info in here. I was having some trouble getting mine working, but I switched from the CD with 4th strike to the standard one and then it worked. The settings were the same for both CDs, is the 4th strike version not compatible with the scsi2sd for some reason?

I use the 4rd Strike one so it should work fine.

Good to know, I'll have to give it another try soon and see if I can figure out what's up.

make the rom using terminal then STOP USING TERMINAL and write the SD card using an app called "dd utility" (not to be confused with OSX native "disk utility"). If you read this thread you'll see my journey.

I think I made the SD card right this time as my Mac will no longer recognize it; however, I get the invalid CD message upon powering on the CPS3. Screenshots of the SCSI2SD settings and Terminal attached. I wanted to try and erase the SD card and try all over again, but I can't with disk utility or SDFormatter. Is there a terminal work around?
Your images show a missing detail from many of the previous images.Sector Size must be 2048. Mac defaults to 512 even when you switch from HDD to CD. Think it's a bug in the GUI tool for the Mac. Happy tinkering everyone!

All these issues with a Mac creating the images makes me think, wouldn't you guys be better off just downloading Ubuntu, burning it to USB flash drive, booting to a live image boot to perform your image making to SD card? I see you guys struggling for weeks with the image. Would rather you guys get to enjoying some 3s action!
