What's the best way to add USB controller connectivity to a JVS cabinet in 2026? (Vewlix and New Net City)

I'm looking for advice. I have a Vewlix L and a New Net City that I'm trying to add USB controller support to. I already have USB extension cables and even a subpanel on my Vewlix which adds USB ports. I just need to figure out how to interface with JVS.

My initial plan was to use the MultiJVS IO board for this. It has DB15 controller ports, and I already have Undamned USB Decoders that I can use with it. I found out the hard way, however, that the pinout on the UD converter doesn't match up with the default controller mapping on the MultiJVS IO board. There is a way to fix the button mapping by putting a custom profile on a microSD card, but this also changes the button mapping for the buttons on the cabinet's control panel. Additionally, the button remap feature built into the UD converters (where you hold 3 buttons when plugging in a controller) doesn't work. So unless I can fix both of these issues, the MultiJVS won't work for me in this application.

Does anyone know of a better solution? The only other solution I've seen is in this video of someone in 2019 using a Molex style splitter and UD Converter Plus adapters to add USB controller support to a Versus City. I might try this for my New Net City, but this method wouldn't work for a Vewlix cabinet as far as I know. I figure in 2026, someone out there has come up with a more elegant solution for JVS cabs. I would appreciate any help.

I think you can do both. It’s all in the programming you do on the website. It’s hard to do, but once you set it up you’re all good. Plus there are presets for some games already.

@nipple I'm having trouble trying to daisy chain the IONA with the JVS boards in either of my cabinets.

If I try to daisy chain in my Type X2 setup, the controls on the cabinet work, but the USB ports on the IONA don't work.
If I try to daisy chain in my Naomi setup I get an error that says "JAMMA I/O BOARD NOT FOUND."

If I don't plug in my JVS board in either setup, the USB ports on the IONA work fine though.

I haven't messed with the programming on the website yet, but I didn't see any settings on there that could fix this issue.

Do you have any idea how to fix this?

I have a genuine version, which has the side port and it always just worked. I didn’t have to do any setup other than the button mapping.

I have only tested with Naomi though.

Maybe try change the Iona setup to a different jvs board style in the setup
