What's new

A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

I replaced Vewlix fan with a Noctua one, if I remember correctly it's a 120mm fan

Will do. I'm curious about the connector. @Derick2k, how did you power the fan? Using the same connector on the AMP pcb or someting else?

So uhm, what's the deal with the proper core2 and gt9800- it almost like it's better NOT to have these upgrades, even though they're definitely better?

it is better just on original drives there isnt supported drivers for the video card. Also when you update the drivers other games break eg. Samurai spirit sen.

I don't mean flashed or retail cards, but the proper ELSA GLADIAC 998 GT

This is the original fan that came with my Vewlix FC: cndc12d7v

I tried both of these with good results, the first one although spec wise is very similar to the OEM one, to me sounded quieter, it didnt bother me as much as the oem one. The second was much quieter being a lower RPM of course.

NF-F12 industrialPPC-3000 PWM

NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 IP67 PWM

Since the oem fan was directly spliced in, I crimped my own jst connectors for the new fans in case I ever want to replace them.

Thank you for this! Any reason why you chose the PWM fan models versus the 3 pin models?

Hello guys,

this night i installed Nikos multi-image.It looks great and it runs very well.
The Games i have from my old SSD from Joerg i copied to the new SSD in the Multigame Games folder.
The original Games works as well but the following games are no longer running:

Ikaruga
Jamestown
Volgarr

is there a tool that i can converted these games ?
Hey, So those games arnt "official" TypeX2 games. They where games that where ported to the TypeX2 by Joerg and require his multigame to run properly. I thought about porting them, but I want to keep the focus of my multigame to official TypeX2 games.

I need some Help to start Mame with Nikos Image.

I got my first Multigame from Joerg at his Multi Mame and Glaunch ( Mame Frontend ) starts from the USB Device.
On the USB Device was 2 folder ( 1 folder calls glaunch and the other folder calls Mame ) and a .bat file.

For Nikos Image a create a folder and copied the 2 folder and the .bat file in the Mame folder but Mame don´t run.

can someone help me ?
So just like above, mame was ported to the TypeX2 for use with Joerg's multi. Which will not work on my multi. There has been discussion about making a mame port for my multi, but the way mame handles input is very annoying and is hard to interface with programmatically. Maybe one day someone will make a mame port for my freeware multi. :)

The industrial 3000 rpm fan which is similar in specs to oem only comes in PWM, plus those are meant for constant server type operation, so figure it was the best bang for the buck when compared to the oem.

It needs to be slightly trimmed because of the big caps close to the CPU but otherwise works perfect.

I have a 80mm exhaust fan next to the CPU and. 140mm exhaust fan at the side.

Runs silent and cool.
Is that Arctic Alpine Pro CPU fan a direct fit to the processor on the TTX2 board? :)

@Niko thanks for you answer.
At the first Pic in your first Post in this thread MAME was listed in the Gamelist ? i thought it will run. ;( ;(

It depends what you understand with direct fit :D

the plastic frame where the fan is mounted, touches slightly with one annoying capacitor close to the CPU, it needs to be trimmed half a mm or so (it's soft plastic, so it's easy), the cap also touches slightly the heatsink I decided to dremel the heatsink around half a mm as well, just to be on the safe side.

The good thing is that its a 92mm fan, and it cools not only the CPU but the surrounding capacitors. The fan cools up to 85W TDP, therefore it's perfect for the 651 and it's very silent.

The OEM Thermaltake 70mm fan is horrible loud.

Yea, at the time I was trying to get it ported but kept having issues, then got side tracked and pulled into other projects. :/

That will work for me. Thanks!
