What's new

A Freeware Taito TypeX2 Multigame.

Does anyone have any idea how to change the screen format from horizontal to vertical on the ttx 2?

After recently purchasing the TTX2, I spent a week reading through this 145-page, 9-year-long thread. So I wanted to ask if it’s still possible to get any torrent now?

I have an issue with my system. Running Artax 4.1, Upgraded to i7 with 16GB (2 DIMMS), Solid State drive and upgraded video card. It was running fine, and then I started getting one been and it just stalls on the Type2X logo. It will stay there for several minutes and then reboot and do the same thing. I replaces the CMOS battery, reseated everything, even bought and replaced the RAM. Any ideas appreciated!

That's an X3 if you're running the Artax 4.1, this thread is for the X2. And FYI, your issue on your X3 is that the security is enabled and you need to disable it again.

Ah sorry, I'm new to this. The thought the original box is an X2, I may be wrong. If you have a link that explains how to disable the security that would be great, thanks for your help!

I'm reading up on it now. I guess I need to buy a wired keyboard :) It looks like, on the splash screen, I need to press the Alt, Ctrl, and then F9 to access the bios?

Getting a blue screen of death on my ttx2 multi after its been running well for years. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Any suggestions? RAM? GPU? HDD?

EDIT: It was the 7900gs gpu. 2nd one thats failed.

Once again struggling with arcade hardware…..
I’m trying to do a multi for my X2, put an image that Niko pointed, I used HDD Raw to write the image to a hd.
After that opened in Windows and I see the 3 partitions, ttx something, I don’t remember right now the names.
Put the hd and all I got is a black screen.
Tested at all sata ports and got the same result, tried w/ onboard video and a GF7300 just for test purposes, I know that I need an 7900gs with Elsa firmware.
Still the same black screen, I don’t tested with an JVS connected, apparently x2 have a jvs card connected on pci port with dip switches that I don’t have, but I have chase hq’s io board.
Originally this type x was an Chase HQ 2, but it came to me w/o gpu and hd.
For a multi do I need the jvs card or could I connect the jvs io in usb mobo?
The io that I have is a sega rev b or a capcom io.
Maybe there is something else missing and I don’t know, I’m kind of lost with this x2.
I have upgraded de cpu for a core 2 duo 7500 and put 4gb ram

Sorry, are you saying that you're trying to boot it without a JVS I/O connected? That may explain why it isn't starting up, but you should at least get the no JVS connected error.

It also won't boot without the correct GPU installed, so that might also explain things if I'm understanding correctly that you're trying this with the 7300GS.

Yes, I'm trying to boot w/o a JVS IO, I don't have the JVS card to connect JVS IO.
I tried with a 7300gs just to see if it would boot and to make sure it was written correctly on the HD.

When I tried with my multi, not having the appropriate flashed GPU and not having a JVS I/O plugged in stopped me at the same spot. My guess is, you'll need the GPU, you'll need the JVS card, and you'll need to plug in the JVS I/O to the JVS card to get to the multi menu.

When you say this, do you have a JVS card, but without dip switches? If so, your dip switches are likely covered by a black piece of plastic you can remove by hand. Take a clear pic of the connected cards on your motherboard and we can confirm if you have an appropriate card.

I don't have the JVS card at all, I can't put any JVS IO because of that, maybe I should give up and search for a complete type x2, I couldn't find a JVS card anywhere, even infos about it are so hard to find.

Definitely won't boot if you're missing the JVS card, I think I missed that in your previous post. Sorry!

Could you post a photo of the expansion card area of the case? The JVS card is usually all the way at the bottom.

The only way you're gonna get the JVS card (or even a DMAC/FAST card) are from part outs, I think. There's a certain Chinese seller you could try asking for one if you wanna roll the dice on him. ;)

I can post a photo but not right now, I'm home and the board isn't here, but I'm sure that the JVS card isn't there, I have to find one 7900gs and the JVS card.
Maybe you can see thru the video I posted the missing card.
