What's new
I think Ill just do the swap and place sockets while im at it. Both cpus need to be replaced correct? So any 64pin 12mhz (or is 10mhz preferred) 68000 should do it?
Is it worth the messing for big striker? That is the question!

Also there's no schematics if you fuck up... The pins are all conveniently bent by the factory and the pads / tracks are LOW GRADE.
Chopping it out is the only way, and a waste of a good processor...

It's only the main CPU needs overclock directly under post 1, the sound CPU can handle abuse of the legend of makai hack , and big striker so no point with that.

I was thinking that, it's not worth the risk for Big Striker IMO, I'll stick with my 8mhz 'normal' PCB

BTW is JALECO pronounced 'Jail-co' or what I thought, 'Jal-i-ko'? just curious

Sorry, I thought the 8 was the speed - apologies!

It is, but it's what the M68000 CPU is rated for, as opposed to what it's actually being clocked at. It's being underclocked on this board, which can't hurt longevity.

For ease of understanding, the letter “L” is not used in Japanese at all, instead “R” is substituted. So it’s pronounced

JA-RE-KO

But depending on the speed of speech it may sound different from person to person.

Big striker (12) and p:47 ( 8 )

So the sweet spot is 10mhz, either through overclock circuit or swap cpus.

12mhz is the sweet spot ;)
But i get ya, running at 8 or 10mhz would be a sweet spot for a P8 ;)

For 8mhz something like this circuit should work but not tested:

<this circuit would replace the switch, with the red wire as input, white as output and the LS pin out of socket>

Hammy, just seen your YT vid of E.D.F playing at 12mhz, looks good. On my single layer E.D.F. PCB, it has one IC at -10 and the other at -8

Do all the games run noticeably faster at 12mhz but keep the gameplay intact?

Played my stock p-47 board today.

The very first stage I encountered slow down. Especially on boss.
