If the wire isn't hooked up at all to the wire on the multi - can I assume that it just fails to the 12mhz crystal?

DO NOT leave the DASH pin floating/disconnected. The switching IC requires the connection to be made to function properly. If you want it to run at 12mhz, you have to ground the Dash pin if you are not hooking it up to the multi.

I got my first one installed - wasn't an issue. Worked like a charm! at least, I think it did... I played a few different 12 and 10mhz games and they all seemed to work fine.

I noticed it in Knights of the Round. At 12mhz some places were too smooth; like 60fps fidelity, where 10mhz was fast, but not like that. Overall pacing feels better too at 10mhz.

CPS2DigitalAV HDMI mod. You need that adapter board to work on CPS1. That's the next step later this morning for me to finish up cause there's a new board that directs the Qsound audio through the HDMI mod. The red PCB wasn't designed to do that.
