I sent him a PM for work about a month ago and he never bothered to respond back, based on his forum usage, he seems to be here as of yesterday. Maybe he's swamped or just doesn't care.
Either way, there are other cable vendors available to get your project done,
see here on the forums for an alternative. I was very happy with the work.
TL;DR: I’m sorry I didn’t reply. I don’t appreciate you referring people to someone else because I didn’t reply to *you*. I don’t like working on egrets of all kinds for reasons and was both too over run with backlog from other people and real life/my own stuff.
*sigh*
I told myself I would never make
THAT post, but since you hopped in *my* thread and told people to not use my services, you forced my hand.
The initial message:
So, mea culpa, I didn’t reply. That’s on me and I apologize for that.
That said, here’s a picture of my workshop:
There are three full NAC harnesses, Three PSUs (one NAC, two NVS PSUs), 8 blast city-001, a dead x3 motherboard, a Franken-x3 with a standard desktop motherboard, and many many small undone personal projects (never mind the NNC, the Astro city 2, and the big red I have at my brother’s home that I’ve been restoring as personal projects… for nearly two years).
I also have 5 daughters (yes, F I V E), a wife, and a day job that require most of my attention. Not because I HAVE to, but because I choose to.
Custom work takes time. LOTS of time. And access to original hardware. I don’t have an aviary of the same model of cabinet because if I did, I wouldn’t make stuff for most cabinets. I have a ton of different ones so I can verify that my hair-brained adapters work on lots of stuff. For the stuff I don’t have, I have an 18 inch tall stack of manuals and wiring diagrams So I can at least determine how things are connected.
Yadda yadda yadda why didn’t I reply, right?
The Egret and it’s offspring are… not my favorite to work on, and even breathing anything inauthentic in its direction will draw the ire of people on the internet. I’ve stated very clearly that I didn’t like my E2 when I had it and boy, you should have seen the DMs sent to me both telling me that I was insane, or was only in it for the money (???), or deserved to die (!!!) while in the same messages begging me to sell it to them and that they deserved it. Beyond making cp harnesses that work with most Taito cabinets, I really try to not work with egrets. Stock parts for them are unobtanium, and if you CAN find them, they’re $$$$$$$. The e29 is even worse.
I’m sorry, my man. I just wasn’t interested. And I should have had the courtesy of simply telling you that. And that’s on me. And I am truly, truly sorry for that.
I’ve been busy restocking my own usual stuff (cp, extra button, and kick harnesses for Taito/Namco/sega cabs, FGC adapters for Brook and UD-USB boards) and anyone who has been working with me the past few months in rebuilding their cabinet main harnesses knows, I’ve been up to my ears on custom requests as well.
All of which are hand-made by an army of one in my basement here in happy valley Utah.
Combine that with me dropping thousands of dollars on finding LEGIT wire colors and stripe coordinations, as well as obtaining original parts for full harness reproductions (I am now selling blast city -001 looms as well!) and you can see that I’ve had my work cut out for me.
Also, those at-large that are reading this: This isn't a cry for help, for understanding, or even sympathy. I'm just letting everyone know the why behind the silence sometimes. There are many other people out there that do what I have been doing for the past 10 years, and by all means if I turn something down you should go elsewhere. Hell, I'll probably even refer you to them
I genuinely appreciate the trust you all have all placed in me in the past decade, and I promise that I'm not taking that for granted. I hope you can see that in the ever improving quality of my work.
In the future, I’ll be better about being upfront with people when I don’t have time/energy/or interest in custom stuff, rather than letting them hang out on read, hoping that I can get back to them later. I truly appreciate you even asking me for help and I'm sincerely sorry I let you down.
