This battery solution lasts ages, months? years?console
Awesome, man. I’m curious to know if the battery holder can be flipped parallel or if the pins won’t tolerate a bend. I’ve just gotta fit it within a console case as this is for a consolized MV1-B. If I could find a perpendicular CR2032 battery holder on digikey with the same pin configuration I would order it, I just don’t know how to search for it honestly.Yeah I got 20 pcbs made up so I have a number spare. I also have all the parts:
1 x 1N5817 or 19 schottkey diode
1 x 2032 batter holder 3 pin vertical
3 x single header pins
It will be cheaper (I think) to ship as a kit rather than assembled but I could probably do either. Give me a day or so to work out shipping costs and I'll DM you. Thinking something like $10 each but ill check what everything cost as I may be able to do a bit better than that.
I'm very interested too, a kit is perfectly fine, please DM me also when readyYeah I got 20 pcbs made up so I have a number spare. I also have all the parts:

I don't think the pins are long enough to be bent and I have not found any flat battery holders with 3 pins either. I actually designed it upright to mimic the original battery but it does stick up a tiny bit further than the original. I was thinking of doing a flat one as well as one for the PGM but haven't gotten around to it yet.Awesome, man. ISo check the battery holder without the battery with the console powered on? Where would these SMD passives be found? Sure is annoying though, this consolized MVS I bought has been good for the money other than the bios/save situation. Can you check if you have any reverse voltage at the holder when on. I don't on mine but once it's in the MVS its a little hard to check others. The other issue could be that you have a high draw on the battery when off this is typically one of the smd passives in the bios circuit. Let me know how you go.
It’s an MV1B.Is it an MV1c? These are notoriously bad for draining batteries. A few things can go to cause this but C3 (0.1uf) is often the cause.
