What's new
Awesome looking stuff there

Hey, any chance you are gonna make those JVS PAC 2??

Looks great. I am also curious about the Mini USB JVS IO board and the work done by BobbyDilley and the JVS emulator - I am hoping a "plug and play" solution for USB guns and steering wheels on JVS is in the near future. Any chance these two projects will combine into one pre made solution? Still waiting for the chance to use an Aimtrak and Logitech wheel with Naomi, Triforce, Chihiro, Lindbergh, etc. and hoping this will eventually happen. All in good time, I hope.

It's in the works :) . I use the same MCU family as the Jammafier for that one, so a lot of the time consuming 'plumbing' like JVS library, bootloader, firmware update etc will be a straight port to that one. https://irkenlabs.com/33-second-iteration-of-the-jvs-pac-2
Yes very nice news.

I see that you have added fixing holes, it's great

As you use the same base as the jammafier, do you think you can set up the link of two I / O?
And if so, would it be possible to play 4 players?

Can we remap the keyboard keys sent by the JVSPAC? Because I had a lot of problems with the Alt key, especially on type X

I think the JVS-PAC2 will do cab linking. Haven't seriously considered 4 players tho, but if time permits I will have another look at the Capcom IO as that one supports 4 player AFAIK.

If it gets too messy, I won't do it - the idea is to have keyboard and 2 joypads like the original, and I presume 4 player would only work nicely with keyboard.

No promises as it may be incredibly niche - got a game in mind that people would actually run with 4 players?

Yes there are many games playable at 3 and 4 players

You also have playable games with 2 joysticks per player very fun like smatch TV

With the keyboard would be very good to manage the 4 players, with MAME no problem

Currently I'm doing this with a JVS PAC in 1st cabinet and a JPAC + JVStoJamma (very expensive) in the slave cabinet, all in keyboard mode.

The top would be to be able to send a script to reconfigure the keyboard keys to fly. Jpac can do that.
This will allow when you launch a game with hyperspin for example to configure in 2P, 3P or 4P following the game launched

That fluke is mad slow or the Jammafier is too fast :)
Be careful not to upset the cult of Fluke followers :)

The Fluke 17B+ in the video is actually pretty good choice arcade tinkerers wanting a good meter. It IS a genuine fluke - but to avoid people buying that instead of their expensive ones, it's only sold in China/Asia - and eBay/AliExpress.. :)

I made a test procedure and did a 'testing run' last night pulling out games. Got to 15 boards before I found a problem with Commando, and then Life Force/Salamander. Turns out I've had a an error in the audio attenuation section since rev 1.0 that only affected those boards - bit of a bummer. Fixed and verified, and a new revision of the boards are ordered.

Sorry for the delay guys, OTOH it's better that the faults are found&fixed before the thing is shipped out.

Came across the page for your product and sent an email only to find that there's a project thread here so hello again!

If you're getting a list going for first round I'd love to be put up for a jammfier as well as the tri-sync helper pcb

Test report - all looking good. The Kung-Fu master turned out to be a faulty PCB, coin 2 worked ok.

Also did a quick test of Double Dragon to confirm -5V audio. While I was at it, I did some measurements to verify that the -5V capacity is adequate, and it is. Probably because of the attenuation stuff, none of the boards that use -5V used more than 0.02A. I guess I have done all the tests I can, and have no further excuses for delaying this :)

For those on the list that would like to get the tri-sync helper, please drop me a PM or email so I have an idea on volume. Currently got parts for about 10 I think, but as it's so small it can always be sent later in a plain bubble-wrap envelope without the horrendous shipping fees.

Not sure which shape it will take, but there will def be some 4 player stuff. Thanks for comment - it made me expand/rewrite the JVS library so it now supports Capcom IO in 4 player mode, and a 2 ioboard link mode for 4 player (keyboard output) should be very doable when it's time to dig into the code for the jvs-pac 2.

Phew, been busy :) Next up is QA and inventory - I expect a couple will need a little rework, if not I got parts for a couple more units. Plan is to take orders and start shipping out sometime next week.

Oh boy, can’t wait!

Btw. What would you need 4 oscilloscopes for? :P

Looking nice! Question though - is it possible to mount stand off feet to the board? I was going to use an extension cable and mount it to a board to make swapping a little less painful
