very true....I'm still a fan of the flash version (instant load of last game) because I like to pick a title and stick with it for a week or more.
That said, if the FPGA route is taken, it would be nice if the multi could be placed in slot 4 on a 4-slot (for example, or slot 6 on a 6-slot) and not interfere with the instant loading of slots 1-3 (or 1-5) on power up. Even if you were almost immediately going to cycle through games, that would still give the multi plenty of time to load up the game and be ready to play once you switch to that slot.
don't know if anybody here want to go through an on screen menu selection.I could not go through the entire thread, I am sorry for that, but I desperately neeeeed a AES multicart with the following menu.
I hope Darksoft can take this into consideration..
I was working on assembly to program this menu when I came across this thread on the net so I decided to post a mock up here.
Please let me know in case of any questions.

Though I like the CPS2 LCD a lot (and don't use it much, as I don't swap games that often). There are plenty here who would prefer an on screen menu. It has been one of the most requested features from what I've seen. The LCD is nice for an MVS setup and if you only want your favorite games on the card. The whole Neo library would be a bit much for a little screen like the CPS2 multi, not to mention a pain for an AES setup like aarkay14 mentioned.
Guys!, Maybe we can just program the START button to launch the last played game! We can save this info onto a battery back RAM or something simpler on the cart. The AES multi cart should have a menu as it would make everything much simpler. So as soon as you turn on the NG AES just hit start and boom you are there in the gameThough I like the CPS2 LCD a lot (and don't use it much, as I don't swap games that often). There are plenty here who would prefer an on screen menu. An onscreen menu would be better, as it is faster to make your choice.
Even from UX perspective it is better to have it onscreen as you can see the next items while scrolling and anticipate. With the LCD I tab the buttons like a mad man and usually end up at the game after the one I actually wanted.
And as long as the onscreen menu is optional (i.e. it is possible to force last loaded game at bootup) - I would be happy already.
Plus, AES users and a LCD screen? Not a good combination![]()
I'm not sure how this would work. There's already a Daedalus converter for using MVS on a console, but nothing made that allows play of AES on a MVS console. I have heard before that it can't be done, or it could, but would be really hard to do. I think a lot of peoples dreams in the neo scene, is an adapter to play AES on a Cabinet. I would like clarification if this is possible, but I think this would be a whole other project in its own right, and the focus here is just getting a fully functional flash cart.I gotta say, I do love the idea of using this in both my MVS machine and the AES console in my living room, Id pay extra for a janky adapter to allow use on both
