Recalbox RGB JAMMA: new JAMMA adapter for Raspberry Pi 4/3/400!

Do you know if you have blitter delay settings you can change?

yes you can:
thread blitter
blitter timing
blitter delay

How does this compare to the rgb-pi? This solution is a bit more expensive and I'm curious how it compares to an already proven cheaper solution. And the rgb-pi guys have a "tate" distro image already available with configs and games included. In case you have already tried both.

Well for one it has voltage protection and protection for plugging it the wrong way ! my rgb-pi is out of order since I did that ... reminds me I should check if the part is back available at digikey (edit: looking at that minuscule IC again, there's no way in hell I'm changing it ! so rgb pi = bricked.)

2- it has, like the Crown arcade:
  • cps2 and cps1 kick harness pins.
  • a nice volume pot
( yes I am cheap/couldn't wait to order one and recycled a naomi fan ! :D )

3-it adds stereo output pins and a 3.5mm stereo output / headphones plug
3-it has a spot for a little optional oled LCD to display some information (resolutions, game title, etc.) it's a 3$ screen so I again went cheap and ordered it from ebay.

Another question is if it's even possible to run a newer version of mame? As far as I remember in the past, the only versions out there for pi were ancient. So all different emulator distros used the same old versions
Well that's my goal to figure out and an issue with all of the above... I'll dig deeper and report back, unless @Recalbox shows up and help?

edit: ok I think I figured it out from this explanation:

By default, the roms\mame folder is for MAME 0.258 ( which hey is not bad!). but if you put the roms there it doesn't list them all.
the other subfolders are:
mame2003 Based on romset: MAME 0.78 (December 2003)
mame2003plus Based on romset: 0.78-0.188 (MAME 0.78 as baseline with others ROMs based on higher MAME romsets)
mame2010 Based on romset: MAME 0.139 (August 2010)
mame2015 Based on romset: MAME 0.160 (March 2015)
advancemame Based on romset: MAME 0.106 (May 2006)

If I create a subfolder under roms(internal)/mame/mame258 and place some 258 roms in it, it's not displaying it ( i used Dogyuun (8/25/1992 location test) [Moffitt] which was added in 258).

ONLY if I rename the subfolder roms(internal)/mame/mame will it properly display (and play) it.

so off to the races I go with 0.258 roms in this :

Can you access the roms folder and drop roms in via FTP server? Or do you plug the microsd card in and out of the device to do the file transfers?

Latest arm release of mame I'm finding is 2017, while the latest normal release is 2 weeks ago. So guessing regardless of the rpi distro you are running, you are limited to this.

Do you really want a newer release of MAME on a Singleboard Computer? Wasn't the reason for Final Burn Alpha/NEO that MAME openly is "Accuracy über alles" and gladly takes a hit on performance with a new release? (If that knowledge is outdated please correct me)

Thank you for sharing this, I'm following your channel (@KG80 ), could you made a test of IBARA Kuro Black Label and Sega Model 3 GG !!
