SOLD Sega NEPTUNE Board, SMD parts populated

I sent mine to Christa Lee because I wasn't confident I could transfer the customs. She's apparently done a few of these, which is more than I've done. She charges $300 to install donor parts to a bare Cosam board, but cut the price to $150 since @SnakeGrunger 's board already has SMD parts in place. I will inform my wife that buying SnakeGrunger's board netted me a savings of $80, so it's actually good for the family.

If you don't get the expensive DVIZIX shell, you can use the Genesis model 2 shell. However, for 32X carts to fit, you either need an extender/adapter or you need to trim the model 2 shell.

What sound chip this board takes ? Model 1 or Model 2 ?
Did you look at the github - it takes a whole bunch of chips.

From the github:

The project was initially based on a VA1 PAL Mega Drive 2 and VA1 PAL 32X. Other Mega Drive/Genesis revisions may be usable if these also use a 315-5660 or compatible ASIC.

So that is what I ended up using - although my 32x was VA0. That ASIC in particular is important. YMMV with other Genesis variants. And - it has the triple bypass built in - so audio and video should be as good as THAT can get.

thanks, I have never had the triple bypass on my genesis but always preferred the warm sound of my model #1, does this mod cleans up the sound quite abit i.e. remove genesis 1 warm audio?

@9999 Damage oh ? I assembled mine and things were fine afaik, the only part I assembled manually were the LED (for batch1) and the IC601 (ACT241), everything else was in factory and looking at the placement confirmation file there are few chips that went on and the ones that did had pin1 at the right place.

Wanted to update everyone an issue was found on the Neptune boards that causes the Region to be erratic, serial not to work properly, and CRAM dots. Been working on this for over 2 weeks in Discord and thanks to dr-goobur, we have a fix. Please see the issue and the fix on the Git. https://github.com/Board-Folk/Neptune/pull/5.
Special thanks to donutswdad for discovering this issue, although it drove people mad for a while cause nothing made sense. lol. noobguy for relentlessly looking for the solution and creating the Git issue and everyone else that contributed in Dubesinhower's discord attempting to figure this out.
This affects every Neptune board in existence. A fix will be applied to the Gerbers for future boards.

Let me double-check with her to make sure I understood and got whatever info she can offer.

Edit: The only one she can remember is the LED.
