What's new
Lucky to have stumbled onto this thread, this has been a neat read. I'm excited to see the end result of this!

My fears were proven on the first screw. Any tighter would have broken the screw.

Tap and Die with Cutting Oil to the rescue!

This worked perfectly except the bit was so tiny, it was sketchy centering the cut with the tap handle. So i placed my power drill clutch on the lowest speed and used that instead. It performed as expected and I was prepping each threshold perfectly.

The topper was properly restored and I was on my way to each baggie of screws to assemble the components.

The wheels needed some rust removed so I left them in an ISO bath for a few hours.

After cleaning, all bearings and rollers were greased

The final result looked like jewelry to me

Finally I reassembled the monitor housing and installed the chassis.

I got a chance to take on the pile of parts that is Fantasia today..

My goal was to piece together the front CRT cover panel. In order to reference the screw sizes and locations. I had to remove my second cab front panel so I decided to populate the front frame first so I could connect to the panel I was going to assemble. This involved a lot of Tap and cutting fluid.

Just as I was preparing the next pieces, the power went out..

I thought this would be a perfect time to paint the bezel in front of the garage.

I sanded and then painted, allowing 3 hours to pass before a second coat.

After the second coat dried. It looked so smooth to the eyes..

What better way to kill time then scraping the old adhesive off your wire tie downs?

After a glorious syncopated monotony of repetition, I built a 3M sticky train and gave all my tiedowns new sneakers!

The rebuild was going great and after more tapping I could see the bezel surround locking the the frame into a complete top piece. I would need to fasten the speakers and Yen badge next.

The yen unfortunately was pitted and after scouring it still had brown spots. Dremel to the rescue.

After a few coats of Lithium. It was looking like a mirror.

I transferred the Yen Mech and finally the wire tiedowns by referencing the 2nd cab.

It surprised me that I had to get certain angles to catch them all.
