Sorry, only just seen this (still looking for a main PCB, anyone??!!)

Hi sega_man,

thank you so much for the pictures
Finally I can see how this board looks complete.

I hope you find somewhere a cheap X-Board to repair your awesome deluxe machine.

I'm just about to do the first steps for the deluxe replica.
In this arcade forum I will continuously document my project.

My biggest concern at the moment is finding this soundboard somewhere...
So I have the same concerns as you ;)

No problem. I found a sound board today. I'll see if I can find a link. You already have the airdrive board? (Linked zbove)

That would be great if you could help me find this soundboard :)

Thanks, yes I already have the driveboard from a Royal Ascot machine.
I rewrote the EProm and remade the connection cables for the gameboard and SSR board.
Now I will test whether everything works together, then I can take care of the pneumatic control system (Airdrive).

I'm sure I'll run into some problems while building. I might ask you for a few more photos if I get stuck...:)

Just to update this thread, I have found some chips :) I've got some tools coming hopefully tomorrow to de-solder the original two IC's, assuming that goes to plan I'll pay for the chips & get them fitted.

Going to use chip quik, got a new solder station with a selection of tips. Hopefully they come off OK...

Thanks! I'll keep my eyes open for a sound board, I'm still looking for a main system X board too....

Yeah that was the other brand I found. I think re-soldering will be harder....

Installed the chips....same fault! I give up, I don't have the cash to keep on at it. I guess the chips were duff or the board has other faults. Gutted tbh :(

I desoldered a known working chip (the larger of the two) and stuck it in the position that was reporting bad. It still said bad!

However, I soldered the chip back in (Ic 105 I think) and now I get a corrupt screen, not even running the test....

There was one pad that looked iffy so I reflowed it, still the same.

I'm going to rerun the test with Eproms out...

Progress!!! My track repair worked :) Two pads on IC108 had lifted, I ended up using a track off an old PCB, soldered it in and epoxy glued the pad down. IC108 is now reporting as OK, so what I currently have is my original chip from IC41 in position IC108 & vice versa so I know 100% both of those chips are OK. If you recall I had bad RAM's being reported too, I replaced those (IC22, IC23, IC31 & IC32) but still had an error on IC23, they were all NOS from Mark @ RetroClinic and they ALL reported OK when I piggy backed them over the bad chips! I removed IC23 but now ALL of them report bad again! Would removing one of the RAMs cause the other to error? (seems unlikely). At least I know both chips in IC41 & IC108 are good, advice points to logic around those chips but what do I do next? I don't have a scope :( Thanks everyone for the help & support, it's keeping me going!!!
