@Darksoft can you look into the problem i found with The Super Spy (posted on few post earlier) ?


Watch at 4min45.

Like you can hear in the video, some effects on musics are missing or glitched.
You can hear it cleary at the end of my video "In the Jukebox" menu of Unibios.

I can hear also some "pop" on the sound of musics.

You can compare the music with some gameplay on Youtube.
They render totally different on the flashcart.

It's the only game left i have an issue with. Everything else is perfect.
 
We will have a look at it whenever we can, but I see that you are playing the song #4 of the menu. As we mentioned a couple of times, the menu uses a very complex method to play mod files. The songs #3 and 4 have 8 channels IIRC and was making some sound problems when exiting the menu.

Can you try changing your default music in the menu to #0,#1 or #2 and see if the glitch dissapears?

Thanks for the update.

Flashed the latest firmware / top / menu following @SVM steps.
I have really weird issues.
mslugx in slot1 and kof98 in slot2.
I can boot mslugx, but I'm stuck on red warning screen when booting kof98.
So I check the system configuration: I'm in MVS / Europe.
Then if i go to kof98 game configuration, everything is in japanese.

I still have glithes with unibios 4.0 at first boot and sometimes I have glitches in the multi menu.

Not really important, but the monkey is still not in the foreground :)

Thanks for your answer Darksoft,

Whatever music selected in the music, same issues with musics always.

Also the garbled Unibios logo is not fixed (even with the last update of today). I still see a garbled Unibios on each boot.

you have unibios and then the cart is trying to force another region. Which one are you using on each?

1st boot of unibios will not show the logo, but the rest will. This will remain like this.

We're currently looking at the glitches when navigating the menu.

I'm not familiar with this game. Have you compare how it sounds in the original? Can you tell me a couple of examples in your video when it doesnt sound as it should?

The Unibios logo is fixed (except the 1st time when you power on). Did you also update the menu?

Indeed, i have exact same issue if i do exactly you wrote.

I have this when booting Kof98 :

WARNING

THIS ROM CARTRIDGE IS FOR USE WITH ORIGINAL SNK BOARD ONLY.
COPYING OF SNK BOARDS IS PROHIBITED AND MAY RESULT IN SEVERE CIVIL AND CRIMINAL PENALTIES AND WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT OF THE LAW.

In a black screen with red letters.

And the game is frozen.
 
I am not using the 4.0 unibios yet, think I'm at 3.2 but for me it's definitely not garbled anymore :) Even though I don't really mind I thought I'd mention it since a few people reported it as an issue in this thread. Next to the fact that I can definitely appreciate the DS team spending their time on the small (imo) things as well :)
 
KOF98 will only work in MVS mode, as the original is intended to.

Yes everything is updated and the menu also. (BUFF deleted also before you ask ^^)

The Unibios logo is not fixed even with everything updated.

Even if KOF98 is the only game on slot 1 and no others games on others slot, the game is frozen with the WARNING message.

One of the last updates has break compatibility with this game (it worked perfectly before ='( )

Also i can confirm that the Unibios bios issue is really not fixed, i always get a glitched logo at each boot and reboot.

tell me the exact version and reviosion of firmware that you see in the menu. Please tell me also the date of the menu.

I have vertical lines on unibios 4.0 logo when booting for the first time into the multi menu.
Not really a problem, because I have this since the beginning, but as it's mentioned it should have been fixed.
And in the menu, I have some horizontal lines which appear sometimes, and sometimes not.

Same the glitched logo is only when return or launch the menu when starting the MVS.
About the horizontal lines i only get them when i just updated the flash & top firmwares. Then after a reboot they are not here anymore.
