What's new
For sure, I'd love to have one for 600 regardless of whether or not it works. LOL.

Great find!

So I'm getting ready to call this cab done (for now)
But what kind of locks did these cabinets use?

Several locks on this bad boy
2 x “long” standard security locks holding the control panel, these ones are keyed so that the key can be removed when the lock is locked or unlocked.
Similar but not identical to this https://www.amazon.com/AKEYSRC-Tubu...?keywords=arcade+locks&qid=1661066092&sr=8-11
2 x “short” standard security locks for the coin door and the maintenance door. These ones are keyed so that the key can only be removed when locked
Similar but not identical to https://www.amazon.com/EG-STARTS-Ma...6?keywords=arcade+locks&qid=1661066092&sr=8-6
1 x high security magnetic lock for the coin safe. Miwa ab2551, this looks the same as the Sega magnetic locks off a Sega new Astro city, but is not. But since the Miwa locks are unobtanium your best bet is something like this
https://jammastar.com/gb/sega/1740-security-lock-28-mm-.html

Do you still have the tangs? If so I’ll measure the barrels off each lock so they line up. If you don’t have the original tangs there is not much point, the tangs were all weird, best to buy a new lock + tang set that fits the gap.

Unfortunately no, I got a single lock + tang for the coin door, clearly not original.
The coin door and box were just loosey goosey

Can any of you owners tell me what the adjustment pot does lower middle of the pic? I know the right upper one is the 5v adjustment (which changes the voltage backwards to what I thought) but not sure about the other. Would it be on the Exceleena schematic? Cheers.

Their function is not listed in the schematic - through a process of experimentation I've been able to establish that their main function is to explode C26 and make the workshop stink of burnt rotting fish.

While I was savouring the smell of burnt rotting fish I experimented more cautiously and came to believe that both of these work in tandem to adjust +5v. And that +12v is not independently adjustable.

Thanks for taking one for the team @hatmoose. Your resto contribution is very much appreciated. I also managed to adjust mine to a neat 5v with a board attached so I‘ll leave that be. Did you end up doing anything with the Jamma connector? Mine‘s got a few hacks and I snapped off a common ground pin yesterday so am looking to do a new Jamma connector. I was thinking of going a TE connector that I can use pins instead of soldering but the pins are pricey. I’m close to finishing a partial resto of my machine but hit a hurdle with the joysticks. The original Seimitstu is flogged out but works fine, while the new Seimitsu only works in the down direction. What the? I’ll add to this thread when I finish my setup. For now here’s the panel I had powder coated, a new overlay and Seimitsu buttons. Ideally the green buttons would have matched the teal surround but that colour is not available. Cheers.

Does anyone have a part ID handy for a straight replacement for the volume controls?

Thanks @Ziggy Cheetos Dust. I'll keep them in mind. Have a broken one on a cab and was hoping to just swap it.
I haven’t quite figured out how mine work. The wiring was modified. I’m guessing it’s somehow meant to be stereo with a stereo signal and dual mono without. But the left volume appears to control both speakers while the right controls the right only.

Got another Exceleena 2 today, this one also has a burn free MS9 in it!

Only hiccup is a hole drilled in the CP box that I've already handed off to a friend to get patched.
Spent my evening tearing it down and scrubbing it out

Has anyone ever had the metal bottom piece for the control panel on the Exceleena 2 repainted/powder coated?
I've got a guy that can do it for mine, but I want to be sure I get the color right.
any tips would be appreciated!

I’ve had some parts powder coated. I got the colour close but not perfect. On some angles it’s quite different. But I wasn’t fussed because I was planning to do a whole cab some time. I guess that part is quite hidden so you can’t totally blow it.

I used the dulux colours brochure to compare to m the original cab. My guess is that the original paint texture is more rough than the powdercoat which is quite smooth. I chose satin as well. Not gloss.
