the first step in any Multi is making all of the conversions work.Could it be done similar to the cave project?
it might be possible to make a multi but you've got to get through that step before you start speculating on the best way to do it.

Star sweep only needs the CPU roms, and sound roms - the romboard is not required for this game, and it would be the easiest one to test this proof of concept.Thinking about, test it on real hardware.....
i'm so exciting
This is the memory plan guys:
ROM8 PCB - IC: 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9=8
Original: MB8316200B
Spare: MX29F1610
IC:6D
Original:Intel 28F200BX-T80
Spare: PA28F200B5T60
IC: 2F,2J,2K,2L
Original, still available on ebay: 28F008SA-120
IC: WAVE.8K 32MBit
Same MVS problem, there is no 42pin DIP EPROM in Byte mode that you can buy ! only 27c322 in word mode
Anyone have pinout of original maskrom ?
If we are lucky we can use the adapter made from ACK granmaster jedi ! for MVS !
I have already used it and and still have some pieces available, so i can use: MX29LV320EBTI-70GHave been making my own bootlegs for fun and (no) profit and realised that the lack of a pin-compatible 64mbit (8 meg) EPROM for C ROMS is a limiting factor for some of the larger games. Also the lack of a 8-bit addressing 32mbit (4 meg) EPROM for V ROMS is a bit of a pain, requiring them to be split onto 2 x 160's.
A lot of the Chinese bootlegs just bodge 3.3v chips straight onto the board with 5v signalling which works great until it stops working.
Luckily the awesome Tdaede considered this problem a long time ago and solved it with this adapter. Takes super-cheap 3.3v flash, adjusts...

WAVE.8K - Sound samples, 42 pin DIP mask ROM, either 16MBit or 32MBit. If 32MBit, it is programmed in Byte Mode.
SPROG.6D - Sound program, Intel PA28F200BX 2MBit Flash ROM (SOP44)
PRG.2* - Main program, Intel E28F008SA 8MBit Flash ROM (TSOP40)
What you think about guys ?
2x 27c160 adapter is wellcome.Star sweep only needs the CPU roms, and sound roms - the romboard is not required for this game, and it would be the easiest one to test this proof of concept.
The chips onboard can be re-used .....
Except the funky mask rom (it's a strange rom... but i think the guru has designed an adapter for 27c160 maybe? or some tekkens have a rom adapter fitted as standard)
what you think about WAVE.8K ?I would be happy to test Star Sweep.
Sent! let me know how it goes.I would be happy to test Star Sweep.
Its write times, you write only 1 times when you put game onI think 1,000 writes is enough for most people.
However, if one was to exceed that, is there a modern chip one could replace them with that is pin compatible with higher writes as an option?
