if you allow for serial data on HD15, like the the RT4K, SVS does, maybe there's something to do with all this down the line, just sayin'

I mean the HAS is great at it is, I own 3, but this kind of thing and adding something like an esp32 chip could lead to a lot of cool software features (which could/should be open-sourced, I'm not asking to put in that side of the work, just adding ressources to have a built in webserver in // to setup stuff (like the esp32 does)
this could mean selecting a game profile on a webapp, and it would auto select a saved controller layout, turbo layout, if sounds needs to be reversed (bootlegs, sorcer striker/mahō daisakusen, others) tell the RT4K to select the right profile (and vertical or horizontal layout info for rotation)
I really mean just opening it more for options and to interconnect with other devices

yes, this is true (I only own one 5.0 but it's hooked to my RT4KP in the living room)
