RT4k documentation has some more detail

  • RGBS is a form of RGB where sync is sent through a discrete line. The RetroTINK-4K accepts the following RGBS signal formats via SCART: Composite Sync (attenuated), Sync-on-Luma, and Sync-on-composite. They all work by sending information down the Red, Green, Blue, and "Sync" lines. The maximum resolution supported is 1920x1080p 60fps, or 148.5 MHz

  • RGBS is a form of RGB where sync is sent through a discrete line. The RetroTINK-4K accepts the following RGBS signal formats via HD-15: Composite Sync (75 Ohm attenuated or TTL), Sync-on-Luma, and Sync-on-composite. They all work by sending information down the Red, Green, Blue, and "Sync" lines. The maximum resolution supported is 1920x1080p 60fps, or 148.5 MHz

tl;dr
SCART = attenuated 75 ohm sync
HD15 = TTL or attenuated 75 oh sync

@RGB Thank you for the tip, I think I would prefer the HD15 directly since then It's only one cable with the nice VGA adapter + audio of course.

Tell me is the CSync TTL without the 470R on HAS 5.0 ?

Any chances to get DB15 to USB adapters in future? I know I can buy them from Ali. I actually own two but they are supper ugly :p

In V5.0, there is a 470R resistor on the CSync line, even when the TTL level is selected. This doesn't seem to affect equipment expecting TTL levels, as there's either no termination or very high termination, such as around 2K. This serves as a safety mechanism - when connected to a device expecting a consumer-level CSync (75R impedance), the 470R in series + 75R termination form a voltage divider and the Vp-p is reduced to an electrically safe level.

if you allow for serial data on HD15, like the the RT4K, SVS does, maybe there's something to do with all this down the line, just sayin'😇

I mean the HAS is great at it is, I own 3, but this kind of thing and adding something like an esp32 chip could lead to a lot of cool software features (which could/should be open-sourced, I'm not asking to put in that side of the work, just adding ressources to have a built in webserver in // to setup stuff (like the esp32 does)

this could mean selecting a game profile on a webapp, and it would auto select a saved controller layout, turbo layout, if sounds needs to be reversed (bootlegs, sorcer striker/mahō daisakusen, others) tell the RT4K to select the right profile (and vertical or horizontal layout info for rotation)

I really mean just opening it more for options and to interconnect with other devices👍

Hello @RGB
Do you have an idea or estimate when HAS v5 + power supply bundle will be back in stock? Is there a pre-order or backorder / interest list?

Thanks in advance!

took me way too long to post this, but I got a nice surprise with my jamma cable entenders, a bad ass HAS5.0 case that matches the green CPS2 cases quite perfectly I must say 🤩 congrats again and thank you Mike!

That actually looks really good 😍

Now I want one for mine 🤣

The store is live now!

For the HAS V5.1, I’ve switched to the HD-15 video out port, moving on from the trusty 8-pin mini DIN (RIP), since so many users bought some form of an 8-pin mini DIN to HD-15 adapter.

There's also a larger, 1.3" OLED display installed now.

I hope you like the updates in this release :) Thank you!

Edit: @trev1976 - Not anytime soon, I'm afraid. The pre-order list doesn’t justify producing even a small batch of RECO PCBs.
