How to Net-boot NAOMI/Tri-Force/Chihiro Using Pi-Force Tools

Yes, that is oriented correctly. At this point, I'm assuming it's something I did on the Adafruit board, but I'm just not seeing it. Some of the solder joints are ugly but nothing jumps out as problematic. I'll just clean it up and try again.

if you go to the adafruit website follow the steps to test your adafruit screen, it activates your screen (the IC2) to work with the raspberrypi. Im not sure if it will make a difference but thats a step i did first before doing the piforce steps. My end result was still the same nothing was showing up on my adafruit screen, but once i went to the piforcetools.py file and change anything that said Adafruit_CharLCDPlate() to Adafruit_CharLCDPlate(busnum = 1) it started working good. Maybe i can email you my piforcetools.py file and you can just replace it on your sd card with mine and maybe it will work ?(

I hadn't considered that as a required step -- ill give that a go. If I still don't have any luck, I'd say my soldering is at fault.

I believe that you need to modify the files on the microSD, but I always boot from CF or via NET with a computer, so I can't help further.

Metalslug.Bin the file name.
Piff... I think you would rather take a look at this one. :whistling: :saint: <3
But how I can modify this file?
Modifying Pi-Force Tools Game Names/Adding Games that don't show up/Changing the IP address

On your SD card there is a folder called "piforcetools" and inside that folder is a file called "gamelist.py" ("piforcetools.py" on older versions) If you edit this file in any plain text editor (such as notepad.exe) In this file you'll see lots of code but you'll also see a list of ROM file names and associated titles. If you're not seeing your game in the list after you've added it to the roms folder then chances are that file name is not on the file here. I would recommend keeping your roms named the same as the file names listed here, so that if you ever upgrade pi-force-tools you wont have to edit in your custom names all over again. You can of course add new files to this list as well simply following the format of the existing files listed.

Uh... I didn't design Pi Force, but the way its pre-configured I'm pretty sure you need the LCD hat?

If you don't have the LCD but only a Pi and not pi force-web, how will you load games?

The game files can be anything you want provided it matches each other ie. rom name vs game list name.

If you have a pi3 (not the plus) you can use piforce-web which uses the wifi on the pi to create a "naomi" network which allows you to connect to it via a mobile device and then load games via the web browser.

Do you have the Piforce-web fork?
Sorry, what do you mean?I have a normal raspberry pi, if you need a send a photo
Yes, you'd better send pictures of what you exactly have. Please upload them in an external storage service like tinypic or google drive so it doesnt take space from our servers.

So how do you expect to select/send games to the DIMM with no LCD screen and directly connected to the Naomi?

What do you think the Naomi will present you with some game selection menu?
*Spoiler* It won't, it will just sit there waiting to receive a game that you have no way to select/send.

I use wifi from rasp and select. Game using an ip. Address where I see the game list on chrome.
When turn on the Naomi I can see the wifi on my smartphone, connect and see the list.
Sorry for my English :)

you can utilize piforce single without the LCD kit and just put your rom in the designated folder on the sd card. The image and information can be found here

Yes I think it's correct, but image for? I have all to play, but the only one rom that I don't see is metalslug 6 :(
Pheraphs I have this :
# Piforce-Web

Piforce-Web is a raspberry pi image which boots a WiFi access point and creates a web-page containing images and links to the naomi games which you own, and allows you to netboot these games from your phone, laptop or tablet

the web-page used to launch games from your phone (Piforce-Web) it's the same that your site.

@ghantz I believe @jassin000 already replied with this but on the very first page of this thread there are instruction on what file you have to modify on your pi's sd card to make metal slug 6 appear. The name of the rom that you have needs to be listed in this file for it to appear.
