The Blast City I received from Ken had wooden boards across the metal foot and behind the back wheels, securing it down to the pallet. It was then shrink wrapped with cardboard edges put in.

It was packed very well, but the center back slightly rounded flat had a pretty nasty 3" scrape in it. Looked like it was slid right up tight to another object, then just pulled away sliding on it.

I was aware of the damage before signing, but I had decided being only on this one back section to let it go as it was such a pain to get.

I will be inspecting this new cab very carefully for any cracking in the edge/control/side panels. The pre-ship pictures look very good... We will see... :/
 
Good luck with it, let us know how it arrives. After a lot of back and forth with KC, I ordered 1 cab instead of the 2, lets see how it gets here. If all good, I will go forward with other cab purchases I have planned that KC said he would get for me.

Yup ditto, I ordered the Vewlix C because no one else I've been talking to has 'em.
If everything works out, I would like to place another order maybe around my original April time frame.

I am still open to a group order, and of course I'll be updating this thread with the results of order 1.

Sorry- I missed this thread in its entirety, and reading back, I'm a little confused...

I'm trying to track down a nice pair of F's or Diamonds (2 matching)...
Did an actual group buy happen or you just ordered direct from one of these guys?

I'm hoping to replace my New Astro's with vewlixes and find the astros new homes...
 
The group buy didnt happen. Jassin and I both bought Vewlix F (Capcom) cabs from the same seller, KC. We are both waiting on our deliveries. If all goes well, I am down for buying another one in April, along with some other cabs I spoke with KC about that said he would source for me. He is waiting for a large delivery of cabs in March/April.

If you are looking to sell of your NAC cabs, I might be interested in purchasing them. Keep me in mind if you do.

Yeah a Vewlix F/C Capcom would be fine if he doesn't have pure F's or Diamonds -- i'd be just using the JVS directly

Right now the NAC's are a bit custom wired, but I'll likely be restoring to stock and selling the "JVS upgrade" parts separate.
I'd DEFINITELY be looking to sell them off once the vewlixes come in (or while they're en route- I'm an apartment dweller, and don't have the most room for all these machines!

I've talked with KC at the start of the week, and again yesterday. He had problems finding a 2nd trucking company for me...

You see the 1st company will only take the cab as far as the local terminal, a 2nd trucking company was needed to deliver it to my house (with a lift gate).
I don't blame him, it was the 2nd company give him the run around.

Anyway he tells me the issue is now resolved and the cab is/was secluded for pick up yesterday or today.
He hasn't confirmed this did or did not happen to me yet, I'm awaiting a final email.
 
Ok, thanks for the update. He just shipped my cab today, as he said he was sorting out the liftgate truck situation. So he says he found the shipping company that will do a direct run my place with liftgate, unload and bring the cab into my garage. So lets lets see. His shipping is the only reason why I didnt order 2 or more cabs at once. Gonna see how it goes with this first order and go from there.

I totally agree with this statement... The only thing I found sketchy about my dealing with KC was the shipping details.
As I said I don't blame him for the delay, but the shipping thus far hasn't been as smooth as I might have wished for.

I got my confirmation that the cab also did indeed ship-out today, I guess the wait is on.
Wonder who will receive first, you or me? ;)
 
Likewise, let me know when you have confirmation of the shipping company.

Ken uses UPS freight. The transaction was pretty smooth, they called me up to schedule delivery and the driver was very helpful, brought the cabs into my garage and helped me take them off the pallets.

I have had multiple phone conversations with KC today on the phone. I am looking to purchase a couple Vewlix L from him.

He is very hard to understand on the phone, I am just very concerned about wiring such large sums of money to him.

I hope all goes well with your orders Derrick and Jassin, if it goes well for both of you then I will get a couple from KC.

Am I wrong to be concerned? I mean, I couldnt really get concrete information on what shipping it would be etc..
 
Thanks. I am a bit concerned, Jassin as well.

The lack of clear communication and shipping details are the only reason why I did not order more cabs on this order.
I will wait to see how it goes before I proceed with further purchases with him.
A few members here have said that they have purchased from him past and have had no issues in getting their orders.

The cabs shipped out on Friday, so we are waiting for shipment details tomorrow, sot lets see.
 
The big problem is the actual freight companies rarely show when they say they will. Pickup and delivery both. And the people working the forklifts when changing trucks could give a shit about your cabinet. I picked up a pinball that was crated directly from a terminal once and the forklift driver dropped it about 3 feet off his lift right in front of us and went about his way like it was nothing out of the ordinary. I still can't believe the glass didn't break.

The only company I've had those issues with was FedEx. They totalled a Centipede cabaret I bought a few years ago. Went to the terminal to pick it up and the guy brought out this completely trashed box of a cab, sides split from the center boards, just completely totalled, sitting on a pallet and asked me to sign... I looked at him and laughed. Couldn't believe he seriously thought I'd take it.

STI is fantastic (girlfriend works for their parent company, but not really relevant to this). Showed up within 5 minutes of their 1 hour time-frame, treated it like it was made out of glass getting it out of the truck, and helped me get it up a set of stairs because they felt it was the right thing to do even though they were only paid to drop it at the end of the driveway. They're pricey, but entirely great at what they do.

Also done a bunch of terminal to terminal shipping. Never run into an issue.

I've used half dozen or so different U-Ship people, all great. Usually better than the freight guys, and cheaper to boot.
 
Well, gonna wait and see how things pan out with the company KC used and hopefully the cab arrives without issuse, at least from shipping.

@rewrite - In the future I might ask you for info on STI and they work. I will possibly be looking to get a few more cabs.

do you have to use his shipping method? you think you could use your own shipping method and just have them to pick it up from him?

UPS freight shipping quotes are bonkers, and i am really apprehensive of a shipper who wants "lift fees" from a personal buyer. "lift fees" are priced for businesses.

i got a quote from UPS, and they wanted 3x the amount over a quote from NAVL. and wanted "lift fees". NAVL= no lift fees
