My unit is good but thank you!

I just tested it again on my Aero City that's temporarily running a crappy $20 arcade PSU from Amazon and it works perfectly on that setup (see pics).

Just got a chance to swap my mister over to the mistercade. Dropped it in my blast and it came right up, no issues!

Has anybody come up with a good way to mount it? It’s fine on the floor of the blast, but for horizontal games I use a dynamo cab, so it will be resting at an angle.
 
I have mine sitting at the bottom of the cab. There’s holes in the corner for PCB feet just like a regular PCB :)
 
Am I missing something to get stereo audio? I have this all hooked up and everything seems to be functioning but I am not getting audio output from the mistercade. Using RCA Lines in a Blast City.

Also button 6 is not registering at all. Ive tried switching from chamma to jamma, no difference.

EDIT: Disregard audio issue, I should have thoroughly read the guide as I forgot to move SW0. Still have issue with button 6 though. Using CPS2 kick harness.

Updated to MiSTer.ini in the manual. I always use MiSTer.ini but idk if it's case sensitive.

I actually ordered a second Mistercade and it looks like it is scheduled to arrive today, so I can also swap hardware and see if it's something specific to this unit.

Can you confirm that your "MiSTer.ini" has composite_sync=1? Also, make sure your SD card is properly setup. The only other time I've seen issues with no sync was when the linux image wasn't properly installed (/media/fat/linux was empty)

So maybe its because the CBOX isn't giving me a full 12V?

11.7V should be good as long as the amperage is sufficient. I measured ~1A of current draw on the 12V line with both a benchtop PSU, and using on my cabinet.

Will you please check continuity between your B6 wiring (at the button) and all the red points? Turn CHAMMA switch on for this test. Also, make sure your kick harness has ground wires where the green dots are (assuming you're using one).
Do you have any external devices hooked up like a JAMMA switcher, etc?

Well, looks like it was a configuration issue. I just went through the SD card setup process again from scratch and this time it is working perfectly. I must have made a mistake somewhere the first time.

I do have one question for Neo Geo cabs. The SELECT button doesn't seem to be active/assignable. I was hoping to use that to bring up the menu to switch games. Is there any way to make it available? Or is it some sort of non-standard Neo Geo thing...

I have to say the quality of this is a lot better than the Arpicade, the audio amp is much cleaner and I'm getting beautiful sound. I might have to mod the cab and install better speakers now :). Also, there is clearly less lag than on the Pi as I immediately noticed the game felt more responsive and I was able to play better.

I don't know if there's a way to make it work, but it's definitely a non-standard Neo-Geo thing, and not part of the jamma standard. So it might not be supported. There are some subtle wiring differences between jamma and true Neo Geo.

Which brings up the next point: running jamma boards in a cab wired for Neo Geo can damage the boards. Neo Geo wiring is set up for stereo, and can send voltage to the audio amp on a mono jamma board. I use a JNX adapter in my Neo Candy to avoid problems. Something to be aware of since it sounds like that's what you're using. Not sure if it will be a problem for the Mistercade.

Excellent, thanks for following up. Like Aurich said, the NeoGeo cabinets should have an adapter for JAMMA since they use stereo audio and JAMMA is mono. Can you tell me which JAMMA pin the “select” button is wired to?

If it’s MVS wiring then looks like it should be: “Select Up” = P1B5 and “Select Down” = P2B5. Flip the CHAMMA switch to on and give it a shot. https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=JAMMA_connector_pinout

Turns out it was a configuration on my end. I sometimes link my cabinets and forgot to unplug the VS loom in player 2 cabinet, which was causing a ground loop. All good now.
 
Anyone having trouble with no TurboGraffix16 games populating? Only console I'm having issues with roms not being visible.

Thanks @Aurich, yes I'm using the same JNX Adapter in my MVS cab as well. I'll attach a photo so anyone else with an MVS and Mistercade can see how that looks set up.
