Are there cables available to buy or would it be a DIY job? Was that for the purpose of running the 4.1 multi?I swapped my Namco IO for a Sega IO but it meant swapping a few connections.

Thanks I will investigate the connector.. the 4.1 supports both JVS and Fast I/O but is only tested on Sega JVS board and there is a known issue with the Namco JVS I/OThere is an OEM adapter for the Noir that came with my friends Noir to connect a FastIO in.
I don't know too much about the 4.1 multi - is that FastIO only?
It was diy job, I have a X2 and a Ringedge both had issues with the Namco IO so I swapped out and now all good. Are there cables available to buy or would it be a DIY job? Was that for the purpose of running the 4.1 multi?
I dont suppose you have any photos / wiring diagrams? It was diy job, I have a X2 and a Ringedge both had issues with the Namco IO so I swapped out and now all good.
Turns out the unit Cereth is shipping me has a Lindbergh panel--I take it that the two control panels being interchangeable means the same restrictions apply(?).You can also fit the smaller Seimitsu sticks, like the LS-58. It's just the bigger sticks (LS-32) that are a problem to mount.
The mounting plate you need is VF.
Can you post a link? Google isn't helping. Found a Vewlix group, but a specific Namco owners group didn't come up.Also i'm on a "Namco/Choir Owners Group" on facebook, it's not very active but helpful and if we got more members i'm sure it would be
How long is the power cord?
Is it safe to plug the Noir into an extension cord surge protector?
Can I power a PC internally via the Noir's supply
Thanks. I know things'll be easier to figure out on my own once I can poke around inside the thing. (there really isn't enough information online about these damn things, and what does exist assumes some degree of basic pre-existing knowledge of the subject in general)You're not using power supplies when you're running things off AC. The cab doesn't have an outlet inside, but there's going to be a fixed power cord that you can use. It's tied to the AC wiring inside.
That's what I had in mind, just wasn't sure if it would work (and am pretty shitty at communicating when I didn't know the name for the cables, or... well, anything, haha)You could take the internal IEC cable and use that to power your PC or adapt or cut the end off that cable and add a outlet there.
Looking into this now. Thanks for the tip! They sell IEC to Nema 15 adapters as well (IEC power cord to AC outlet)
You can Just run a PC off the IEC in the cab no worries. This setup has had mame in it for ages and is setup like a arcade pcb.The alternative I considered was just running the PC's power cord out the bottom hatch to plug in alongside the cabinet. invzim did tell me it's best to have both cabinet and computer on the same ground, but in my mind I was wondering if I could simplify things by just treating a home computer as if it were an arcade PCB, and have everything on one circuit.
Thanks for the reassurance--that's exactly what I had in mind. You can Just run a PC off the IEC in the cab no worries. This setup has had mame in it for ages and is setup like a arcade pcb.
