Namco system N2 failing to boot.

Although I will mention I did get an error saying it couldn't find my GDROM, so I shut it down unplugged it and plugged it back in then it started working again only to get this issue now. Also I need to get a battery cause loading this game everytime takes it sweet time.

I feel if it was an issue with the caps it would be a much wider issue though. I'm thinking I might of accidentally flipped a dip switch or something when moving the wires around since it is super tight in there.

Actually, I remember with outrun2 : the game would freeze ... at random places. which is why the guy sold it for 300$ :D replacing these 3 caps fixed the issue ... and I ended up trading that game .. for the equivalent of 5000$ for a Godzilla pin ! :D

so Freezing where you posted would indeed qualify: my four Wangans have never frozen there, ever. and the fact that you get there indeed means that the game loading process has been done and is all good.

But the system itself isn't "freezing" I can go back to the test menu and everything just fine. It's just not starting the game.
 
Never played Max Tune 2, but can't you set this game to standalone play with no linking?
 
Someone on discord said I should do a media board test and seems like it came out good.

How long have you let it sit in the screen with the spinning star?
 
Went back to Maximum tune 2, same issue. It just doesn't make sense. I noticed that maximum tune 1 doesn't have any ID checks before booting just a handle check and a card reader check and it boots right away. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
