Decided to try a couple other games to see what happens and when I try to load jojo bizarre adventure 001 it tries to load 4rd strike arrange addition. 4rd strike arrange addition works as it should set to 000. Third strike works as it should set to 010. Makoto fix works at 100. When I try to load 2nd impact it 101 it tries to load third strike and freezes. When I try to load new generation at 111 it tries to load jojo bizarre adventure heritage and freezes. When I load jojo venture 110 it loads jojo bizarre adventure and works. Have tried reprogramming now multiple times with same results

hit them with Deoxit and flick them a bunch (while off of course) and see if that helps.

First thing I did was actually deoxit before I reprogrammed the first time. I did not however flick it but I have already desoldered the dip switch in preparation for the new one so I’ll have to wait till tomorrow as long as ups Saturday overnight actually comes through
 
Bummer then, that's probably not it. That being said, make sure there was no cold solder for the DS and maybe after you put them back on they might work?

Nope was really hoping for some luck but it does same thing. Just seems strange third strike works flawlessly same with 4th arranged
 
Anyone that would mind me sending my ultra simms to them to test to make sure it’s not them before I dig into the board itself? I would also pay for return shipping of course
 
Hi Folks - Ultrasimm troubleshooting question! @bgwelistyl brought his CPS3 over as he got the ultrasimm kit for me to program for him.

I did that, and am getting a very weird video issue. I pulled his ultrasimms/cable/selector and put them in my CPS3 kit - with the same BIOS cartridge, everything worked great.

Any hints or tips?

are these still available for purchase? i have a cps 3 thats darksoft but i need to load the game i wanna play but i'd rather have them all loaded with no 45 min process to switch games.
