Shinobi for the Neo Geo!

Hi there,
I'm trying to make a MVS cart for me with Shinobi roms, but i'm stucked cuz I can't get any sound from the game.
MVS board is ok, tested another games and all have sound.
I'm using PROGTOP and CHA256, using 27C010 for M1, J2 and J3 jumped, J1 and J4 open.
Teorically should be ok, but I desoldered M1 and tried to read in my eprom programmer but my programmer couldn't read it, so I think bad M1, just program another.
No deal, programmed another one and no sound at all, tried in another CHA256 board no sound at all either.
My V roms are programmed in 4 27c160, EP1 is a 27c4096, C roms are 2 27c160, S1 27C010 with pin 2 and 24 switched.
On PROG Board I have J13, J17, J16, J10 and J1 jumped the others all opened,
I don't know what I'm missing and don't know what to look for, maybe someone could give some advice.
Just let me undestand, you programm M1 and next while you try to read back you cant ?
No sound at all is M1 problem.
ProgTOP jumpers for 27c160 are : J17+J16 = VRoms are 16Mbit
Jumper for CHA256 M1 128k 128KiB J2+J3
Dude double your M1 file on 128k eprom since its 64k

Did you try reading the second M1? What chip are you using?
Yes, I read after prpgramming and compared, the results with the file, both were the same crc, I'm using a 27c010.

Sorry, my english isn't that good, my first M1 programmed gave me no sound, I desoldered from the CHA board and tried to read, my eprom programmer gave pin error so I took another eprom, programmed and checked before put in the CHA board, result are ok so I soldered it.
I have doubled the file before programming, jumpers in PROG board jumpered are J13, J17, J16, J1 and J9, I wrote J10 by mistake.
The only thing that I could imagine as a problem is the board itself, but I tested in 2 CHA boards and I have no sound with the 2 boards.

dude, audio is on PROG-Board if you have broken PCM chip.
Jumper is ok, take a pic or your boards.. how is the contacts on cha ? did you clean it ?

The contacts seems ok, after I removed the mask roms I cleaned the the pcb, my damn mistake was not test the cart before remove the mask roms, but it's ok, I'll test another PROG board just to be sure about the pcm.
If I put only 1 V rom from the other Prog board should I have some sound ?, I'm trying to avoi desolder all V roms, I take to much time to desolder.

Yes you can solder one v rom and get some disturbed audio.. but al least you got something. If you can’t test before with original game eprom on. I never get no audio from a broken pcm , it’s should be totally dead 😵. No audio is always broken m1, bad track (post picture of cha front and back) or m1 pin. Stupid question.. have you tryied another game on your mvs board ?

Yep, i've tested another games and got sound from all of them, so my mvs is ok, I should have tested the carts that I removed the mask rom before I removed the mask roms, but i didn't.
I have checked the PROG and CHA boards with a magnifying glass, the pads were I solder seems ok and the tracks too, when I arrive at my workshop where the carts are I post pictures from the boards.

Hi everyone. I have a Super Sidekicks 2 cha256 and Proggsc card, can I still use it to write Shinobi on it? Are the correct files to write in the Shinobi-TTE-Roms folder? Thank you all.

PROGGSC have 3 slots for V Rom, and Shinobi have 4 V Roms, the maximum eprom supported for V Rom if I'm not wrong is 27c160, If someway it's possible to use 27C322 for V Rom you can use PROGGSC, if 27C 322 eprom can't be used you can't use PROGGSC
PROGTOP and PROGBK1 can be used.

27c322 can’t be used on v rom, you need prog-top or prog-bk1 and x4 27c160.
Prog gsc can use at least 2mb only v rom also if you have maskrom 4mb. So that’s it.

Thank you. So the only solution to create a cart with Shinobi is to have a PROGTOP to put the V roms with the right capacity.

I'm a stubborn person, I like to do things the hard way, so if I have to put 4 VROMs on a 3 VROM PCB, I do it even if it's unorthodox. ;)
4 VROMs on one PROGGSC pcb. Working!

Soy una persona terca, me gusta hacer las cosas de la manera difícil, así que si tengo que poner 4 VROM en una PCB de 3 VROM, lo hago aunque sea poco ortodoxo. ;)

Great work congratulations!!! Could you share a diagram of how you connected everything and which IC did you solder under the PROGGSC?
