It's simple:Great work congratulations!!! Could you share a diagram of how you connected everything and which IC did you solder under the PROGGSC?
Thank you ! PerfectIt's simple:
Under the PROGGSC pcb is the V4ROM. Eprom equivalent to the 27c160. The method is to mount one on top of the other, in this case it is one under the other sharing the same pins (1-1, 2-2,...41-41, 42-42) except pin 13. Pin 13 of V4 goes to pin 7 of IC 139.
The V4 window is touching the pcb, then cut pins so as not to disturb the CHA256 pcb.
I gotta admit, that's a well done, uh, repro? No, uh, bootleg? Hmm, whatever you call it, it looks great!found on Ebay !!!
shinobi neogeo cd
Is this an Aussie word I don't know? Like Fair dinkum?DISPONSIBLE!
Sorry but you just don't know what that stuff actually costs. Without even looking for a good price, assuming the CD is pressed and not burned (i have my doubts) and the smallest possible run, one of those costs you under 4 bucks. And I think the price is pretty fair, no gouging there. If the seller kicked a buck or two toward the creator, I think I'd support his endeavor!
I'm not speaking to the morality of this.Sorry but you just don't know what that stuff actually costs. Without even looking for a good price, assuming the CD is pressed and not burned (i have my doubts) and the smallest possible run, one of those costs you under 4 bucks.

Yes work isn't free but i kinda feel the Lion share of that work had already been done by other People so maybe that guy shouldn't sell it for profit.
And yes he had to "design" the Inlays and the CD design but since he followed the NeoGeo CD Template 1:1 that probably didn't take too much time (Not saying it's badly done just that it isn't that "much" work either)
Hello, my friend tried on his AES with mother board 3-6 and bios EP0 (us) and unfortunately have the glitch in stage 2.Hi
I've played this last version on 3 different consoles :
Console with NEO-AES mother board : no problem at all, just like with V1.1
Console with NEO-AES3-4 mother board : sadly, the problem is still here, just like with V1.1
Console with NEO-AES3-6 mother board : no problem al all, with test romset or V1.1.
I'm pretty sure it has to do with hardware differences. NEO-AES mb is very different from following revisions : many chips are different, but the other two consoles have same custom chips (as far as I remember).
I'll check in details hardware differences, takes pictures etc... and see what differs.
for information, I played the game from start to the end several times on NEO-AES and NEO-AES3-6 consoles, trying hard to trigger the glitch, and it never happened at all.
On the other hand, it was very easy to trigger it on NEO-AES3-4 console (and NEO-AES3-5 console with V1.1).
I'm going to try to make one of these carts (and a golden axe) for myself.Hi there,
I'm trying to make a MVS cart for me with Shinobi roms, but i'm stucked cuz I can't get any sound from the game.
MVS board is ok, tested another games and all have sound.
I'm using PROGTOP and CHA256, using 27C010 for M1, J2 and J3 jumped, J1 and J4 open.
Teorically should be ok, but I desoldered M1 and tried to read in my eprom programmer but my programmer couldn't read it, so I think bad M1, just program another.
No deal, programmed another one and no sound at all, tried in another CHA256 board no sound at all either.
My V roms are programmed in 4 27c160, EP1 is a 27c4096, C roms are 2 27c160, S1 27C010 with pin 2 and 24 switched.
On PROG Board I have J13, J17, J16, J10 and J1 jumped the others all opened,
I don't know what I'm missing and don't know what to look for, maybe someone could give some advice.
Happy to help you master: SplitI'm going to try to make one of these carts (and a golden axe) for myself.
I'm trying to understand the V ROM setup.
The ROMs delivered in v1.1 are :

The V ROMs are 2 x 4MB. 8 MB in total.
27c160 are 1MB EPROMs according to all the data I've seen.
How are you getting 8MB of ROM data on 4MB of EPROMs?
I looked at the ROMs and they don't appear to be doubled.
Thanks.
Well that explains it. I can't read.Happy to help you master: Split
v1 to
v1, v2
and v2 to
v3, v4
27c160 are 16 Mbit -> 2MB
27c800 are 8 -> 1MB
Yeah I know it's a little fuzzy.@GeorgeSpinner Doubt you will be happy with the result. That seems like you asked way too much of the scan you used for the cover regarding resolution. Did you try upscayl to upscale the scan? Not sure how good that stuff looks printed, I'm in the process of testing that my self right now (aka. ordering stuff and praying it doesn't look like total shit)
I have 3 of the 4 flash carts available already.I like the insert, but you're really going to kill a real cart to make this? Why not just grab one of the 4 available flash carts to play it?
