I got through the schematic last night - using Claude (AI) to help me as I go along... this is definitely a learning journey - PCB work tonight, which looks like it will be more challenging... I am using EasyEDA since I can just plug the output of that straight over to JLCPCB when I get ready to build prototypes. I should have another update by the end of the weekend.

what was funny is that I was ready to keep going last night (even though it was 11:30pm) but Claude suggested that I go get some reset, as we were at a good stopping point, and the pcb work would take some effort.

Sorry if this was already asked, I did try to search but couldn’t see it anywhere.

I’ve got the Everten RCA board on my STV and want to use the RCAs from that to pass the audio of all games to the sound board, but some of my cabinets don’t have amps.

Does outputting the audio via the J6 (speaker) header on the sound board also play the pass through audio, or will it only play the audio for Batman?

ie, can I go RCA from everten adapter to sound board mixing RCA sockets, and then just plug my NAC or Windy speakers in to J6 and get sound for all games in stereo? (I understand adapters and plugs may be needed to get the factory speaker plugs to plug in to J6)

The audio plugged into the mix ports will output over the rca or speakers.

Essentially you’d use RCA for line level (and go to amp in cabinet), and you’d use the J6 header in the sound board to send amplified audio directly to speakers?

Just a thought as I went back through the thread, reviewing.
Where only two games used this board, and the security is the same, I bet you could bank switch the eproms if you wanted to play nba jam extreme also. I think they're both 27c160 sized so 27c322 would fit?

Yeah but they use two completely different mainboards for the games.

Very busy weekend - but I made some good progress, going part by part (mostly, or footprint by footprint) - I am getting closer, proabably another few days of work around my "day job" and life, etc.... then I can get to the point where I can order the PCB and parts, and see what is going on.

Another update - I am at the point where I am doing the trace routing now - struggling (even with the 4 layer board) to get all things properly connected with no errors - but I will give it another go this evening.

And I think I have the routing sorted out as well - will do some more work this evening to dial things in....

Ok - hopefully things are pretty close to correct, as ordering prototype boards is a little expensive!

Blue is bottom, Red is top.

Because of chinese new year, these won't go into production until the 24th - so there will be a few weeks where nothing happens.

Then I can start testing and making modications based on parts that are available, things I didn't measure correctly, etc.
