FS Egret 2/Windy 2/NNC/Q25 (Repair refund)

For Sale
Has has anyone else just tried to rebuilding their chassis yet? I pulled mine today and pulled off all the capacitors and ordered a new set. Half of the caps were off-brand Chinese caps and many more leaking. Also some of the worst soldering I've ever seen on the fly back.

Kuze can you please verify part # of q431. On heatsink near flyback. Thank you
On the PB7534 chassis? Do you just need a picture and the text written on the part?
Yes sir. or just verify k1358. Mine was broken off chassis laying loose. It test good so I hacked back in to regain HV. The heatsink clearly not original to chassis though. Just trying to see what original transisitor is

Will do - if not tonight then definitely tomorrow.

Not yet. But ordered this kit and will do it once the parts get here. arcadepartsandrepair.com says there are 4 filter caps that have to be ordered separately. They are:
  • 3x - 470uf 250v
  • 1x - 1000uf 200v
Going to reflow solder everywhere too. Did you buy a kit or build a list on Mouser or Digikey when you pulled yours? I am going to pull the caps and inventory them as I go. Post what I find here. Going to pull the HOT and test that too. I also have to recap the I/O board.

BTW, my monitor works only barely. Here are the symptoms:
  1. Chirps
    • As it chirps, image horizontally collapses momentarily, then rebounds
    • Hence testing the HOT before resigning the issue is a bad flyback and thus the monitor is lost
    • After warm up, chirping/collapsing occurs less frequently
  2. Vertical sides are bowed inwards

I ordered the same kit. I removed all of my caps and made a list but I can tell some of the Caps previously replaced aren't correct like where there are supposed to be bipolar caps I had regular capacitors there. I also had lots of really bad solder joints and probably the worst soldered in flyback I've ever seen. I can't believe my monitor even powered up with this thing.

Perfect thank you sir. Yesterday I rework my chassis a bit. Change my caps out. Lots of bad ESR failure. Will need e/w pot... Assuming pincushion? Based on image. Chassis ran for a while but eventually blew switching regulator STRM6511 apart. Not sure what cause that yet. Now I need to wait on parts before taking it on again.

Anyone know the part number for the horizontal deflection plug found on Nanao MS293x (and I think MS9?) yokes?

Would like to try and build an adapter to work with the existing yoke on my Windy 2 tube.

Will need a "female" plug that fits the MS293x header and a male plug that can interface with the existing yoke wires.

If I can't find anything, I might try swapping the header over from the PB7534 chassis. But I'd rather not do that as I'm going to try and repair it as well.

Well I may have a solution for the yoke wiring. I dug through my stuff and found a Wei Ya yoke adapter, it's four pins but it actually fits on the two pin MS2933 header!

Next was figuring out how to interface with the existing yoke plug. I dug around a bit more and found a molex power part.

Looking at it closely, I thought I might be able to pull two of the four pins and use that.

Guess what, it worked!

It's pretty snug and I verified continuity using the posts on the yoke.

Will finish connecting everything and will give it a shot. 8)

I believe the only ones left unsold are in Canada. US has been delivered more or less.

Next problem on my end is the dang MS2933 neck card cables are too short with the chassis situated lengthwise in the Windy. >_>

I could remove the huge metal PCB holder and situate the chassis horizontally, but it's not going to be super stable that way. /sigh

Best option may just be to repair the PB7534 if at all possible...

I've got a replacement HOT on the way for it, need to order a cap kit too.

@gpbear4 if you want to deal with shipping it down to you I still have some NNC and a Wind for sale. I don't have time to put it on a pallet or wrap it though. It might be better/cheaper to get a used one from @Cereth. He does have some of my NNC but I'm not sure if those are sold yet.

@XeD KC's closer to me so it might be easier to get one from him. i was interested in yours cause they looked super nice, but i just if you're shipping them out in the future i might be able to get one. E2's arent very common are they?
