How to Net-boot NAOMI/Tri-Force/Chihiro Using Pi-Force Tools

Isn't that just the error it boots to when no game is found in the DIMM board memory? Check your network settings. Remember to hit 'Set' if you make changes.

Is your region set up correctly for the game you are loading?

And I assume you get this *after* the game has loaded and gets checked?

Matt
the pi pings successfully , the pi says transfer complete , but when it restarts to actually load up the game it comes out as the error 31.. question is the crossover cable 100% necessary? I dont know how to tell if mines it’s actually a cross over cable. But it does ping the the network correctly

Look on the sticker, it shows you how to set the region with dip #2 and #3 on the Naomi itself
I think this is your issue - I know I have had that, if I try to load up a japanese game with USA mode set, or vice versa.

SW2 SW3
OFF OFF JAP
ON OFF USA
OFF ON EXP
ON ON KOR

Matt
how do you know when a game suppose to be run on jan or USA etc etc?
Good question - not sure.... none of my images are tagged with region... but I know that I have mine set to USA - so most of my games work - except for games that were released only in Japan - I have to set the switch for those.

I think there is a complete list on sega-naomi.com

Some games work only with JAP region, while others work with all or only EU/USA

as far as I know the images only come in 1 flavor, there are no different images for different region.

Like you say, some images work with USA and JAP while others work with JAP only.

Same as original carts, if I pop in my Dead or Alive 2 cart with JAP region all text is Japanese, if I run the same cart on USA bios all text is English

What about dimm status -BAD and dimm slot 1 - BAD ?? Dose this reading as BAD , maybe the issue?

is there memory installed in both slot?
Looks like dimm #0 is fine (the first slot) and dimm #1 is bad

try swapping the dimms and see if the behaviour changes, if so, you know you have a bad memory stick

I switch them and now its saying dimm 0 is bad so definitely got a bad dimm

Sorry @twistedsymphony

So i searched the dimms since i could not tell if they where 256mb each , so it seems the person that sold me the netdimm had 2 128mb dimms on there and with one of them being bad i cant test , so now i have to search to see if i have a dimm around or hunt one down X/
