Can you post your bios file?
please can you DUMP this firmwareMost of my units have
E9A46I3E v1.0b16 071113
There's also an older bios i found on one of my units.
So that makes 3 different bios revisions so far
E9A46I3E v1.0b13 040512 i7 2600 works
E9A46I3E v1.0b16 071113 i7 2600 works (i7 2700k works for 300wins on this bios)
E9A46I3E v1.0b23 092614 << figureheads only so far (xeon E31290 works on this unit confirmed)
Can't help on the i7 2600k model though, i don't have that cpu, only the standard i7 2600, which works in either system.
don't worry, I have 2 type X3, I try on one and tell you the resultsI sent you a pm with the link.
I take no responsibility at all if you brick your system. I don't know a lot about bios stuff, and i'm not 100% sure that the bios dump is full and correct.
If you want to take a look at the contents yourself, you can open it in AMIBCP4.55.0070 and it will show you the information about this bios. All the info matches the settings in the bios including the defaults when you reset the bios, but i don't know if this is 100% complete dump or not. I haven't attempted to flash this back to any systems yet. It's possible attempting to flash this to your system will brick it as there might be something else unique on your system that works in conjunction with the motherboard/security to make it work.
It was dumped with aptio 4 utility.
Let us know if you brick your system or not if you try to flash it!
The Pentium G3258 Anniversary is more commonly called the Pentium K.What do you mean about "pentium k"?
LGA 1150, I believe it was only available (new) in 2014/2015 as a dual core fully unlocked for overclocking.Has to be a Socket LGA1155 CPU so I5 or I7 that Pentium K is the wrong type its a Socket 448 isnt it ?
Isnt that a Haswell cpu for an LGA1150 socket??? That wont work in an X3.The Pentium G3258 Anniversary is more commonly called the Pentium K.
Fair enough, was hoping to use something I had on hand.Isnt that a Haswell cpu for an LGA1150 socket??? That wont work in an X3.
X3 is 1155 Sandy Bridge

i7-2600, i7-2600K would be the best bang for the $$ I think.
Yes, I would go 16gb and call it a day.Fair enough, was hoping to use something I had on hand.
Is it worth swapping out the 2GB DDR3 for 8GB DDR3?
Do you want E9A46I3E v1.0b16 071113 @Pa0l0ne ?
I can link that for you. I was going to cross flash one of mine just for science as well. It will definitely break the link between the game and the DMAC, and you'll lose your original HDD key but this is all original game issues anyways. I think it will work but until I test it i can't be sure. The DMAC/GAME link is only generic anyways, you can actually swap original GAME HDD's between the same type of X3 game systems and they boot fine. Which is really weird, but it does work. I've swapped a few Lord of Vermillion HDD's between systems and they still work fine.
Lord of Vermillion is a dead game anyways, the servers have been turned off so i guess it's ok to talk about it
