btw I had also checked that old post, does this mean there's nothing to be done with the taito type X zero atm? is there any workaround for a unit without dongle like backing up to the hdd a dumped img of nesica? I see info for the other units, but I can't find any information specifically for this one. Any help much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Ouch... not even a fake dongle? It comes with a HDD with a nesica sticker, so I believe if a fake dongle could be plugged it should work :O

IIRC Type X Zero was mostly only used as a Nesica SERVER (eg: it doesn't play games it just transfers them to other TTX2 and TTX3 units) and the only game it played was Groove Coaster.

it's very weak hardware and not meant to play any of the normal TTX and TTX2 games. I'm not even sure if it has a graphics card.

In short: even if it did have a dongle hack it'd still be mostly useless.

You could replace the M-ITX board with one that has a COM header for the JVS card and install a recent CPU with decent integrated GPU. You would get away with running the artax multi, you might get away with the TypeX games. It is unknown if the JVS card in the Type X Zero is compatible with the JVS drivers in that image though. Anyway food for thought.

Almost ready Now is ready (running with 4.72 version)

Ps : remains to put back on that partition the games folders and to make update from 4.12 (what is now installed) to 4.72 (latest version)

@rtw brother , is still applicable to 4.12 installation what is writen here ? I want to use latest version (4.72) ?


PS :

- Only TGM3 : Terror Instinct runs with black screen and sound like in 4.12 .
Needs to figure it out how to make this to work on my cabinets with low & middle res monitors

- Gigawing Generations is working now , in 4.12 version didnt work

- my unit : Type X motherboard Rev. A1 | 007A | Cel 2.5GHz | 256MB | 9600SE

Ive did fresh install and i succesfully updated from 4.12 to 4.72 .
Only thing i dont know how to manage is i dont know what to do to run properly TGM3 : Terror Instict . I really appreciate any help thoughts on how to make this to work

Tetris Grandmaster 3 is working fine on my TTX Multi but instead I'm having issues with GigaWing Generations!

All other games work great but on GigaWing I get the 'game.exe' message as soon as it loads. I was wondering if this is due to using a Capcom I/O (version 2) instead of the official Taito one?

That looks original… some have a ‘Jamma Bios’ label on them like this one…
TGM seems to be the most picky title regarding this. Can you also try Raiden IV? I got awful choppy slowdown in the first level using a 9600 without the Jamma Bios…

I am starting to wonder if the TAITO Type X has hardware revisions. Can those of you who have a working TGM3 please snap a picture of the version sticker ?
