even if the N2 resolution is set to 15K, you should see and hear SOMETHING.. Voltage is legit the first thing I'd check. it's got to have 3.3v on the dot while powered on. 5v can be varied a bit.

measured the input voltages to the Naomi2 3.3V, 5V, 12V?. also try to test the Naomi 2 without the dimm if it starts it has problems in the dimm if so you could clean the socket and if it still does not work the Dimm has problemsAlright everyone I have an update.
Lemony was kind enough to make me a custom adapter that also uses the CPS2 kick harness i had lying around.
Now having the Rev. 2 Sega IO board it snaps in perfectly.
However... I decided to boot everything up and I just get a black screen.
The N2 boots up (I can hear the fan turning) and the speakers have audible clicks every so often.
But other than that nothing... What am I doing wrong??
The VGA is also plugged into the monitor chassis.
The dips are all pushed down for the 31k display.
I made a little video just in case I have anything set up incorrectly and someone else may be able to notice my mistake.

I just tried running the N2 without the dimm hooked up as well as the IO board and still only get a black screen... The Naomi does still run the fan...measured the input voltages to the Naomi2 3.3V, 5V, 12V?. also try to test the Naomi 2 without the dimm if it starts it has problems in the dimm if so you could clean the socket and if it still does not work the Dimm has problems
i don't trust original sega power supplies that's why i use a computer power supply (ATX) better reliability and confidence in correct voltage and current delivery

The power supply of the Sega BlastCity is switched internally it has some regulation potentiometer for the 5V and 3.3V check it I attach an image where it is but check the voltage of that power supply well I think that one is worn out take into account that it is a machine with 20 years or more may need maintenanceI just tried running the N2 without the dimm hooked up as well as the IO board and still only get a black screen... I also noticed there's a mild flicker on the screen but not as if the video was actually coming through.
I'll have to go get a new multimeter and check the voltage.
But is the voltage checked for the blast city the same as a jamma cabinet? i've only ever dealt with jamma so I was unaware if checking for the voltage was different for a jvs capable machine.

Thank you, I appreciate your pateince..You've got a dmm (digital multi meter) yeah? Are you able to take all the readings for your 3.3v and 5v?
You can turn on your cab without anything plugged in to take readings on the Sega 001 loom.
That being said, I've never had great success with a Naomi 2 and net dimm on a blast city psu, I recapped my psu and I was able to get my Naomi 1, net dimm and Sega io rev b to work.
Have you got a sun psu or even an atx psu around to power the Naomi? This will allow you to remove the blast psu out of the picture and really try and isolate where the issue lies.
If not, do you have a Naomi cart you can test and validate the Naomi is working?
It's all just about a process of elimination. We will get you there, you just have to be patient![]()

The Sega blast city loom 001 will have an 8 and 6 way connector.. All the bottom wires (white) will be ground - so put your black probe in one of those holes..
Then put your red probe in Pin 2 on the 6 way connector (based on the below diagram) should be 5v (yellow) to get a reading
Repeat the same process for pin 1 to get then 3.3v (brown) reading.

Depending on the connector you have on your sun psu, you might be able to plug it into CN13 on the blast city io to allow you to power the sun psu when you turn the blast on.
Also, if the sun does work, you still should check the voltage, it's the first thing you should learn how to comfortably do in this hobby as inconsistent voltage is the root of all evil in this hobby
A friend of mine uses a Naomi 2, capcom io and net dimm in tandem with a blast psu for his setup.
No worries! lol. If I come down that road you'll be at the forefront of my search, Lemony!Also, not necessarily trying to move items, but I make JVS voltmeter extension cables as well as a SUN PSU extension cable for the blast.

so i was able to get out and get a new multimeter. the readings are way off from what they should be... at least i think with what setting i have the thing on..?
they were all over cranked which i'm hoping hasn't damaged the naomi......
should i just install the sun psu?
if i should go about adjusting the voltage which way is voltage up and which way is down?

How do I verify that original switching power supply of the sega blastcity has to be urgently maintained or use another power supply, since the +12v are very low in their voltage range, the 3.3v can be adjusted with the knob on the previous photo where it says 3.3vo 3v3 upload it with a cross screwdriver.okay thank you i had a feeling i was off... the tutorials i was looking at weren't very clear.

realized just now i only needed to check the first two pins on the 6pin and just the third on the 8pin.
so here's left to right again
6pin 1, 6pin, 2, and 8pin 3.
okay good news + bad news.That'd be why you're not booting the naomi, your 3.3v is only reading at 2.26v :o
5v is over and your 12v appears to be VERY low.
3.3v and 5v have pots on the blast PSU, but there's no 12v pot. With the readings you're getting, while the machine is on, dial your 3.3v up slowly (turn to the right) to make sure you get to 3.3v and repeat the same process for 5v but instead of dialing up, you need to dial down (turn to the left)
I would dial those values first and try your stock psu, and if you still don't get anything, install the Sun PSU.

copy. so this is my sun psu.If it's the same connector and pins 1 and 3 marry up, then you should be able to connect it.
For testing purposes, I would try and see if you can plug it outside of CN13.
