DARKSOFT CPS1 Multi - Support thread

Hello,

Thanks Darksoft and rtw for quick response and for guidance.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Already having Pang3 C-Board, i have decided to take rtw response and i modified it to accept keys writing. Its easy and takes little time.
I confirm that all games tested so far by me are working - no more blank screen or glitches. I attach pics for clarification.
Again, Thanks for all the ppl who made possible all these multis, and for their knowledge.

Dragos.

I tried many things, but it didn't work.
- Replacing ROM files_region

If you updated firmware then you need to.update the files for mercs as well.

Hello

I purchased Darksoft CPS1 | CPS1.5 Multigame Kit, and I have just finished its installation with the following combination.

A board : Dash (Working with its original SF2 Dash Turbo B and C)
B board : purchased one from Highscore.
C board : separately purchased 92641C-1, seemingly no modification and it is working in other A/B boards.

I prepared SD (Sandisk 32Gb class 10, Fat32 formatted) and downloaded [Darksoft CPS-1 Japan Region Pack v2.2.7z] from archive.
And I put qsound.bin (feteched from the mame qsound.zip) into the root dir of the sd card.

Powered on, and operated lcd panel to flash several games, but always showing black screen.

qsound and reset soldering looks okay.

but little bit weird situation,
A board (having provided pal chip from the multi pack) + working(B/C, SF2 Dash Turbo) is showing working flawless.
Is it expected behavior?
I did not get original pal chip back to the A board, but working with new pal chip?

Can I reprogram pal chip by myself?
How?
I have experience of gal/pal chip programming by using TL866II Plus.

Send us a picture of your C Board. It's probably modded or the wrong one.

This what I am using for the multi.

I could confirm many of games working after I modified enckey file content to B21.

I was thinking, archive[Darksoft CPS-1 Japan Region Pack v2.2.7z] is ready to play, but needs to modify?

Still not all games are working, though, but I am happy that it is matter of time. :)

Hello,

As I observed, CPS1.5 games are not working (black screen), I am doubting whether my qsound installation is correct.

I am having fpga(Altera) version multi, and I put qsound.bin (fetched from mame) under SD card root, and selected Cadillacs to run, but black screen.

I checked my sd card whether qsound.bin is deleted (as the manual said, qsound.bin installation is copying the file to fpga and deletion.

But I found qsound.bin in the sd card root still there.

How can I install qsound.bin correctly?

I am using qsound.bin (229cead1be2f86733dd80573d4983ba482355ece ; sha1, 8kb).

Thanks.

The Qsound sha1 is correct. Can you show us a picture of your setup? Is your A Board original or chinese refurbished? Did you install the 2 cables for reset? Did you change the PAL in the A Board with the one that is provided with the multi? Please let us know.

Thanks.

Thanks for confirmation.

These are my pcbs.

Which games work from CPS1? Did you test 10 or more? Then if they work well, the problem must be somewhere else, not your C Board.

Is your microSD SDHC or SDXC? What does it mean that it doesn't work? Black Screen? No sound? Some kind of error on screen?

Thanks.

Flick the switch to the “ON” position beside the C-Board. Don’t think this is what’s causing the issues, but that should be “ON” to enable kick functionally for your particular C-Board.

But, your C-Board looks like it’s been modified. Interested to see photos of that area.

Yay!

Now I can play all games without major problem after I removed C-board modifications..

Only one issue that I have is, no sound in qsound games like punisher, slam master, etc.

I confirmed qsound.bin file in the SD card root. Failed to program qsound fpga?

Anyway, happy to make some progress. :)

Did you change the PAL? In the right place? Jump.wires also installed?
Send a picture of your setup please.
