Well, I got my cabs. Pictured above is 19 Usui Trading MAS-25s and three Irem Madonnas. One MAS I had unloaded beforehand.

I like acblunden2's way of writing everything in bullet point, so I'll follow suit.

Good stuff:
  • Cabs are for the most part original. All the difficult to source parts are there. I was sure some doors would be missing, but thankfully that's not the case. None of the MAS cabs had control panels, which I knew before hand. There's two or three that are missing the upper control panel surround, but I should be able to get those and the CPs fabricated pretty easily. One of the cabs is missing a plastic bezel and the wooden support for it, two are missing the glass front screen.
  • Monitors are all original, which is great. I bought these cabs untested, so I was somewhat worried that on parts that have some value Yaton might try to do the ol' switcheroo. However, all the grime inside is pretty telling and it's obvious they haven't been meddled with. 18 of the MAS cabs have Nanaos, two have Toei, all three Madonnas are Nanao. They're all 25 inch (59cm), which is great.
  • All cabs have working castor wheels, thank god.
  • All locks are in place. Maybe one or two are missing. I have one key for the MAS, none for the Madonna. I have a tubular key lock pick on the way.

Bad stuff:
  • Right out of the gate, this container order didn't go out too well:

    See where it says 'FOB'? FOB is shorthand for Free On Board. That means that after the container is put on board of the ship, all liability is assumed by the buyer, ie. me. I would handle all the work involved including negotiating with the receiving port, customs and transit to the final destination. Well, it wasn't sent FOB. Unbeknownst to me a freight forwarding agent was assigned for it here in Finland, which means I'm only the receiver of the goods. The agent handles everything. Compared to the last container I received I paid 275 euros more in fees. Not only is it the extra cost, but communicating with the agent was terrible. Between December 21st and January 2nd I had no idea where the container was as they didn't answer emails or phone calls. This for a container that was originally supposed to come on the 24th.
  • Yaton's crew are terrible at loading containers. See how there's space at the the front of the container? Three 30cm long, 2cm thick pieces of wood had been hammered down with two nails each to hold all three rows of cabs in place. That's it, nothing else. Literally kicked them off. We started unloading these, three cabs at a time. Got to the far end and did a double take. Three of the cabs that were first loaded in were laying on their sides and another three were put on top of them.

    Anyone who has half a brain will know that if you have an object that is twice as tall as it is wide and deep, two of them will take the same amount of floor space vertical as they would horizontal:

    OK, admittedly these aren't twice as tall, but there was space at the front!!

    The problem with laying them down like that is that the next three cabs were put upright. An upright cab that is not strapped down, pressed against the front glass of one of the cabs laying down. Can you guess where this is heading?

    A million shards of glass. I spent the first two hours tearing down this cab and fishing the last piece of glass from inside. I guess I'm lucky it was just the one glass.

    Some of the front doors and mounting boards were left inside the cabs to rattle around. I have no idea why. It's like a five second job to put them in place. I'm surprised we didn't snap a monitor neck when we unloaded the cabs. The monitors on the MAS are frameless and the necks are completely exposed. Lucky again? Well, my luck is about to run out...
  • The cabs are really, really rusty. Like really bad. Here's some choice pics:

    Every panel will need to be media blasted.

    Naturally, where there's rust on metal, there's mold on wood. I can toss the PCB mounting boards, but I can't toss this as is:

    If I abruptly stop posting I most likely have died of some infection.

    Irem Madonnas are slightly better, but not a whole lot. Here's an inside pic:

  • Cosmetics aside, I also drew a short stick on the monitors. I guess anyone who's smarter than me could have figured out that there's a reason why they're missing traditional control panels.

    They've been converted to video slot machines. What's the problem with that? Screens that are more or less static. I know full well what games these have been running, not by finding any of the boards inside, but by looking at the monitors:

Currently, all costs accounted for I'm at 5105,80 euros (without tax) for the 23 cabs. That's 222 euros each. It's not too bad, even with the wretched state they're in. We'll see where I'm at when all is said and done.

man, that sounds like a nightmare. I hope you can fix so many as possible. Can you please elaborate what you plan to do with them? Do they go to a location? Are they spread among different people aka group by? In any case let us know how your restoration efforts (if any) go.
 
This is specifically why Windy Gaming stopped doing containers. My business partner was strongly against importing ANYTHING from China, despite the condition the Egret II group order came in, we were kind of lucky with the packing/wrap and no stacked cabs. Good luck with your stuff, a lot of what could be great it looks like in there!
 
I'm guessing a sandblasting(if metal) and priming station well be setup then a final coat. He'll have to get decals made. Biggest problem is the monitors. Trying to find so many monitors that would fit or just go with the burn if they are even working.

oh no I'm not just going over what nem might have to do.
 
This is specifically why Windy Gaming stopped doing containers. My business partner was strongly against importing ANYTHING from China, despite the condition the Egret II group order came in, we were kind of lucky with the packing/wrap and no stacked cabs. Good luck with your stuff, a lot of what could be great it looks like in there!
That isn't the specific reason. Windy Gaming had compounded issues with his "orders". A TON more to that story.
 
My partner was involved with that container, I know there's more to it :P but it was a big killer to the idea
