What's new
The quality seems fine can take photo if you like, haven’t done any more then power a couple of 12V fans :)

do you have to worry about TTL Sync or damaging your OSSC/Framemeister if you are using a component cable
Ok I've gotta ask (I'm sure I'll regret it) why would you be using a component cable to connect the HAS to the OSSC?
HAS cannot output component, so you'd have to be using a SCART-to-Component converter box between the two devices anyway.
Again... Why on earth would you do something like this?

Hey RGB,

I'm having some issues getting sync with my HASv3, OSSC and CPS2 18-in-1. (The CPS2 and the HAS works fine via SCART, but when I bring the OSSC into the mix, things take a turn...)

My setup is as follows:

-CPS2 18-in-1 (the weird little daughterboard between the CPS2 and the HAS is part of the 18-in-1, for anyone curious.)
-HASv3 8-din to SCART adapter
-OSSC (with SCART input, DVI output)
-DVI-to-VGA cable to 31k Nanao MS-2932 (Sega Naomi high res only) monitor

I can't get sync to hold. See attached screens.

What are you using to measure the screen refresh rate?

I told him, the OSSC cannot output a analog signal!

This is his problem...
"DVI-to-VGA cable to 31k Nanao MS-2932 (Sega Naomi high res only) monitor"

Once its been processed by the OSSC its digital, no passive cable can make that into a analog signal.
This is why he is only having issues "when I bring the OSSC into the mix" because he isn't using it properly.

How does the monitor have an image at all?

How much more "proof" do you require?
This is why I am starting to hate posting here. X(

P.S. What Bucko didn't mention is that both versions of the OSSC (1.5 and 1.6) need a DAC.
Only the port has changed (from DVI to HDMI) it never included a DAC (so passive VGA output was NEVER an option from day one).

Both of my OSSC's (1.6 left, and 1.5 aka original right)

If his desired output is VGA he shouldn't be using a OSSC period.
The best scaler for 640x480 analog "VGA" output is the Taito Scaler... Yes I've seen them (barebones) for around 100$ on YJA.
This will also allow for the use a SLG3000 (scanline generator) in line, as the output must be a fixed 640x480.

Taito Scaler and SLG3000 combo inside of Vewlix FC.

I told you in an earlier reply here that it was not a matter of using the incorrect DVI-to-VGA cable. (I had two, they both worked flawlessly with the OSSC, the exact Nanao monitor and a few different consoles, so they could safely be eliminated as the problematic variable in the sequence.)

You insisted on doubling down on a (non) factor in my setup, which wasn't really helping me, or anyone else that may been dealing with an issue similar to mine following along. This was not at all beneficial to the discourse. The irony of your statement is palpable.

While I appreciate your suggestion of the Taito scaler, I evidently already owned all of the parts I needed to get things running, and was seeking some help to troubleshoot my issue (which turned out to be the placement of a jumper on the HAS.) While I may pick up that Taito scaler in the future to free up my OSSC for other stuff, I was looking to get things up and running as is, if not for just right now.

Anyway, my issue has been solved. Thank you everyone for your assistance!

Is there a button combo that lets you reset the HAS to the test menu or reset the game without needing to power on and off?

Does powering on and off cause any damage or possibility of damage?
Sorry @RGB
You may have missed my question. :)
Sorry, I indeed missed it. There is no secret button combination to reset the PSU or go into the test mode. Powering on/off will not cause any harm, but don't do it rapidly. Just wait a few seconds after you power off and then power on again. Always use the switch on the 110/220VAC side, do not "reset" the HAS by unplugging the 6pin power harness that goes to HAS.

Its finally here 8o Thanks @RGB ill be putting the cps2 setup together when i get home  Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Great to hear you finally received it. So many packages I sent in December are overdue :/ Note to myself to never ship stuff before Christmas.

I saved out my most favorite PCBs (mostly the Darksoft Multi's) and made myself this super compact little desk setup...

@KingSopz How is the OSSC connected to your display, and what kind of display are you using?

There is a little switch on the HAS near the kick harness connector and the AV out--try flipping that? (I believe that toggles the CSync Processor between a few different options, but check your HAS manual for details, as I have a slightly older model that used jumpers.)
