What's new
I may have managed to find an original sound board locally, I’ll confirm in the next 1-2 days (before your cut off date)

Hey I'm happy my PCB was able to help you guys get this project done! Some questions to know before/if I put an order in.

1. Does my original PCB fully work? (it looks like it's missing my original mask ROMS from your comparison shot, I assume they still work and were just removed)?
2. Does my PCB have all the needed cables? (power and ribbon cable)? It's been so long since I mailed it I forgot if I had the cables!
3. Are there any features the repro has that the original lacks? IE should I bother buying the repro when I have the original?

Thank, and congrats for getting another one across the finish line!

Hello!

1. Yes, mask roms are somewhere else and will go back to you assembled.
2. They came without cables. Maybe the ribbon 40 pin cable was there from what I remember.
3. This PCB is brand new, some components are recycled but in general everything is new and you can be confident that it will work for a good amount of time. No extra features if you already have one, but these are soooo hard to get, that better secure one while @Mitsurugi-w is still making them.

Cheers.

A line-level RCA output would be very useful. As long as it's an additional option that doesn't compromise the original functionality, I'm down!

When I say add-ons it's because the sound pcb requires its own power. A potential add-on could be a jamma fingerboard adapter that will power the sound pcb but we could also use that same fingerboard to provide mono sound to jamma from the sound board. Though honestly the stereo is the magic.

Maybe some members such as @everten or @Lemony Vengeance would like to offer some solutions to help people power their pcb or get the best sound from their cabinets. Most cabinets aren't wired for stereo and I'm sure other members would appreciate their experience.

Stay tuned for my post tomorrow. Thanks guys!!!
I'm sure that something can be arranged to engineer an adapter that won't parasitically drain power from the STV itself.. I would need more information about the sound board itself to determine the best lenght of cable, connectors, etc. I'll ping you on discord.

Sorry this may have been mentioned before, but are the ROMs included in the kit, or is it a case of BYO?

Thanks

Ok thanks, I’ll PM to buy a kit as well.

(I did track down an original but will be handy to have a repro spare)

Pm me to purchase pre-order slot.

Yep. Thanks for helping me find the right connectors. They don't use this footprint anymore so unfortunately they aren't cheap.

Just need to decide how to handle this now. Do i only sell them as an add-on? 5 of these connectors is about $20. Or do I just go ahead and add them to every pcb and we just add $20 to everyone's orders at shipping time? What does the group think?

I say just add, $20 to have the capability is worth it. Plus the connectors were hard to find anyway, they just dont make them anymore and yeah you saw the prices on the ones we found so...
