I could have sworn they are 4ohm. I replaced mine with these and it’s a big improvement over the stock speakers. The NVS4000 is a very worthy upgrade if you decide to go that route.I thought the speakers in these cabs were 8 ohm? 4 ohm are fine too?
To use the NVS4000 in a NAC, what needs to the wiring exactly? If you really want to go overboard, you can get an NVS4000 and do a conversion; however you will lose -5v.
@Sp33dFr34k did that conversion, he can tell you exactly what is neededTo use the NVS4000 in a NAC, what needs to the wiring exactly? If you really want to go overboard, you can get an NVS4000 and do a conversion; however you will lose -5v.
Ideally you'll want a PSU complete with wiring already as the wiring seperately doesn't come up that often. I have found them seperately on YAJ back then.To use the NVS4000 in a NAC, what needs to the wiring exactly? If you really want to go overboard, you can get an NVS4000 and do a conversion; however you will lose -5v.
The -5v is easily fixed with a negatron, also I have only a hand full of boards which need it so not that important imo. The fact you have a stereo amp in there and you can power JVS devices from it are HUGE plusses imo.Sharp Image can refurb your psu if you are in the usa, however they seem to be getting overloaded lately. They did manage to fix up two canary psus for me recently. If you really want to go overboard, you can get an NVS4000 and do a conversion; however you will lose -5v. I would try to get your psu recapped/serviced before going another route.
These are direct drop ins for your NAC speakers and sound great in stereo:

Ninja edit: how bad is the harness? got a pic? - Those hirose edges are usually rock solid.
Yeah a few people recommended them to me, as mine were damaged. Wow, you've found speakers which fit a NAC ánd sound better than the stock ones? I've bought 2 sets before, both didn't satisfy me so went back to OG speakers. Might give these a shot..
Will these fit for Astro City? I don't have any NACs but I'd love to replace the crappy speakers on my Astro City cabs with something that sounds way better and maybe can support stereo. Pretty sure the default sound setup is mono. These are direct drop ins for your NAC speakers and sound great in stereo:

Is he called GeekMan1222 over on AO by any chance?I had one of my friends help me out with it- it wasn’t too terrible, I just needed some connectors and repinning some stuff. Not sure what his username is here, it might be cpsystem3.
Nope, I was helping him with his install. He had an odd sound issue with his that I didn't have with mine. You can get some Cambridge soundworks speakers, and poach the speakers out of them to install. I had this done to mine when I had an OG Astro:Will these fit for Astro City? Fixed that for you, that is his username on this forum.@cpsystem3 helped me with mine
Thank you! I'll poke around some of my older speaker sets and see if I can't use those before I pull the trigger on the ones you linked. finally got around to working on this. Recapped the power supply as people recommended. I used a jamma voltmeter adapter to get a new jamma edge. One of my friends is good with electricity and he did the recap and reworked my power situation. Got a step down transformer in the cab now. Dielectric grease fixed my noisy volume control. Put in these drop in replacement speakers I am quoting here, sound great. Thanks radiantsvgun! Next up paint the yellow speaker housing and install the marquee kit lions3 sells. Also installed an anycoin. So far so good. Here is a shot of my friend modifying some screws to replace the security ones holding the power plate on the back. Tested a Neo board and rastan, seems good! Thanks for all the suggestions! Will these fit for Astro City? I would say they sound fuller, better bass and treble. I am planning to wire them to a small car amp so I can hook up stereo boards and have bass and treble controls and maybe that extra level of control could bring the stock speakers to something similar.Great, good job! Can you specify the difference regarding the speakers? How do the new ones compare to the stock ones? High and low both okay?
