How can I reconnect to the Wipi?

IMG_2067.jpg

If the WiPi is still connected to your wifi network you can access it by the ip given by your router. If you successfully changed it back to hotspot mode you should finde the wipi network. - You can reset the network with a file you can put on the sd card - Please check the manual for the correct naming. (check MrHide's answer, he was faster :D)

Did you choose single boot to enable? If so what is the setting for the default game in your net dimm configuration., Guess it is "last game" :)

Thank you very much for the help and looking into the manual @Mrhide and @Orakelschaf,

I have gone through the manual and tried to look into the reset.txt.

I believe the explanation is part of the screenshot of the Wipi Web interface, thus I was not able to find it in the manual directly.

To create the reset.txt do I only need to create a file and name it reset.txt with nothing written in the actual txt file? Or do I have to copy and paste an script in that?

Thank you for the quick reponse.

So I guess I am just going to drop reset.txt into the root of the SD card. I will then look for the Menu in the game list and boot it. Then, finally I will be able to run the OSM and setup free play from the menu instead of pressing the two buttons on the Naomi. Looking forward to that.

Hello,

I have a Windows computer and just installed Linux reader. This program does not allow me to add a file to the raspberry pi image on the sd card. How do I add the reset.txt file to the root of the SD card?

Hello everyone,

I was able to add the reset.txt file into the root folder. Whenever I put in the SD card in the beginning, Windows wouldn’t detect. When it finally did I added the file into the root folder.

I am now able again to login to the Wipi in hotspot mode.

I have tried to load the On Screen Menu (OSM) from the game list but nothing happens.

I have set the OSM as the default game in Netdimm manage and enabled it in the options menu.

Please see attach the screenshots of my settings.

The last picture shows you how I got into the diagnostic settings.

How can I boot into the OSM?

I just got openjvs. I am now installing the img system with openjvs function on my Raspberry Pi 4b. Which img image should I choose for installation?

If you have a 32gb card, use the top one. The bottom is streamlined for an 8gb card

Hello Fans,

I am still trying to get the OSM running on the Naomi.

Where do I have to go to get into the csv file folder?

How can I make these changes?

Then I will try to use a 32G image. Thank you for your suggestion, but I still want to know whether the streamlined content of the 8GB image will affect the arcade types or other functions supported by openjvs.

Looking at the first post in this thread, 8gb has no roms, 32gb has roms 👍

Mine is a Namco 2x6 game, and it’s useless even if there is a game rom. It must be used with a dongle, so I still choose 8GB. Thank you for your guidance and suggestions.

Thanks for the quick reply, appreciate it. Just got the chance to take a look at it, and found this in the dimms.csv file:

Did as you said, updated it with a additional column called "cab", updated the entry in the setup, but it just booted to a screen "CHECKING NETWORK".
Deleted the entry through the GUI and readded it, but issue remains.

I figured I needed some additional values, as there are 8 column headers and only 6 values:

This did the trick:

Took a few tries to get it to boot like this as it kept overriding the "defaultgame" for some reason, but now it boots properly to the OSM, and I have controls via my Xbox One controller :)

EDIT: @chunksin the HotD2 ROM used, is it from this thread? https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/games-fixed-to-work-with-dimm.1073/ Looking for a way to boot it to 15khz, but seems like it's not supported.
Thank you so much for figuring this out.

I was finally able to do this too.

All you need to do is to ideally use a laptop or computer and connect to the Wipi.

Then go to file manager and find the dimm.csv file. There you edit it as described. Save it.

From there I went to game list and booted the Menu.

It worked!

starting from step 5, I couldn't connect to Bluetooth and couldn't detect or recognize my Bluetooth controller.

Happy Weekened,

Hope everyone is doing great.

I finally also joined the OpenJVS gang.

After I connected the the usb b connector to the OpenJVS hat instead to the Capcom IO, the image is not synced anymore.

Why would that be? The monitor is connected directly to the VGA port of the Naomi.

Also, I have a Raspberry Pi 3 and am not really understanding the jumper settings. I have left everything at default.

Do I need change the jumper settings to make it work with my Raspberry Pi 3 and Jamma setup?

I just realized that in these pictures I have not connected the Naomi with the OpenJVS hat yet. I assure you, I have.

You have completely unplugged the capcom IO right? it's not needed at all in this setup. ( meaning you need to plug usb or bluetooth devices in the pi ... your cab joysticks and buttons will not work). You had the monitor plugged in the vga port of the naomi while using the capcom io ? but you also had the jamma plugged in so perhaps the sync issue is coming from the jamma beeing unplugged?

jumpers: the manual says to set them all to the "blue position" for non Pi 4.
